 | i was reading about burning man. they take in over $40mil in tickets, where the fuck does all that money go? then after
$$ tickets "this is a consumer free zone no money is
exchanged" and fucking suitable you shits sold everyone out
at the gate. i first heard of burning man literally 20 years
ago via some random guy's trip vid on justin.tv and wanted
to go someday... until i heard elon musk and mark zuckerbird
 both go

"just walked 5 miles in the mud out of burning man with
chris rock and a fan picked us up" --diplo

so traumatic for those little shits to have to live like a
normal person for a few hours. at least they can spin it
 into media coverage. ASS. holes

 | I think media is making it worse than it is. Personally I think calling it a festival isn’t really the right term,
maybe in a broad sense but it’s nothing thing like
Coachella or Glastonbury. And I think it gives the wrong
impression. I had to look into it to gain understanding
myself.… music is a huge part and focus, but art both as a
physical thing and a personal experience make up majority of
the vibe, community , religion- tho not any specific
denomination, and also fashion and creativity, resilience
and self reliance. Those are the heart of it- however trendy
and fad like it’s become aside.

It started in 1886? I believe and In ‘04 they adopted the
10 principals -radical inclusion -gifting -decommodification
-radical self reliance -radical self expression -communal
effort -civic responsibility -leave no trace -participation
 -immediacy

All of which are defined on their own terms and may not mean
traditionally what you’d expect. It is very much a unique
experience and event; which may share touches of similarity
with many different things, festivals, communal living,
environmentalism.. but really it ends up being a central hub
for people from all different. Aspects of life to gather and
have this shared experience and live outside traditional
 structure for a week.

So inconvenient and unusual as the anount of rain may be (3
months worth the first day) ; it’s all part of the
experience. People adapt and change plans and roll with it
making the best of the situation. The radically self reliant
and leaving no trace are big factors; no trace being why
access and vehicles and bikes were haunted so as not to hurt
the plya; and why people are “stuck” .. reality is they
were merely asked to respect the rules set forth and most
did so bc they believe in the principles. There no fence
keeping them in; many people walked the 6 miles and caught
rides, the ones that stayed made do and the sense of
community is what’s making it go smoothly .

 | may the mud wizard of lützerath guide them
well said big, its pretty much the impression that i have
 from it,
news and social medias focus usually is to find the little
pieces of shit within the raisins.

also, generally speaking, people who go into the desert,
prepare to go into the desert, where water shortages and
floods are the 2 most common causes of death, so, everyone
knows that. how is anyone suprised?
of course i hope no one dies on their trip into the wild.

anyone seen hal and his gnomes?
