the doctors tried me on this one first, gave me tablets,
the voices went away for like 3 months, then i stopped
taking the tablets and the voices came back. i gained a lot
of weight. so they put me on monthly injections. during
covid they changed me to 5 weekly. now the medication is
called aripiprazole. also i have diabetes and bad legs, like
varicose ecsema on my legs. about a month or two ago they
put me on medication called orlistat for weight loss, ive
lost about 5 or 6KG, nearly 1Kg per week

i suppose the reason for putting me on injections is so
doctors can trace what medication im taking. cos i dont
believe im actually ill, im not really ill and not really
schizophrenic at all. the voice is a psychic man talking to
me. nobody believes it. i tried to tell my parents, the
doctors, the nurses, and you guys, im not believed.

it's a real fucker when the psych people just tell you yr
ill and the meds will sort everything. my old community
psychiatric nurse said something really powerful - the
voices are real for you and who's to say yr not
perceiving something we can't.

for me it was similar with the risperidone, totally got rid
of the voices but i backslid on the booze and stopped taking
my meds, this was when i was in the hostel. i'm on 4-weekly
arsecheek injection of flupentixol and 15mg olanzapine daily
now - virtually no voice hearing and i've genuinely just
forgot a lot of my, aham, theories.

time can do a lot, is all i'm saying. hope you get some
relief. and well done on the weight loss!

risperdal sux to the point where the odds are good that the
new stuff will be an improvement. the once-a-month dosage
deal could be about efficiency: doctors tracing if you take
it costs much more than a monthly injection. however, it
also saves you hassle, and, hey, usually you get nothing
when they do something like this; enjoy it

i suppose the real hold your hand event for me would be if
someone i told would actually read the torah and tanakh (the
talmud is quite a dry read for the most part), then read
maimonides, and then read london's the times newspaper for a
while. what would chill me out if someone here read those
and then could explain to me why im wrong. but yeah kind of
rude of me to say read all these books and then you might
believe me. im not a professor handing out lectures and
demands for book reports. i think wolfie bless him said
there's no evidence for what im saying. im saying the
evidence is torah, tanakh, talmud, maimonides, the times.

my injections cost more than £100 a time for the taxpayer,
one time a student community psychiatric nurse messed it up,
£100 down the drain. bless her

belb i cant understand everything youve been through, but im
glad youre better now. we can understand each other a bit
because we both hear voices in our minds. ive never had to
struggle to find a place to live(yet), which would be awful
for anyone to face. we're lucky to have a welfare state
here that protects us a bit, it could be better but it could
be worse. hope the tories will lose next year and putin
breaks his neck

why did the voices go away for 3 months do you think? do you
still have them now? maybe there might be a transition
period switching medications i don't know how long it takes
antipsychotics to work or there might not be at all

i dont know

i still have the voice in my mind.

but when you were taking risperidone there were no voices
right?

the first time i took rispiridone, i went for a walk to the
park about 30 minutes away, in the park i started to get
vicious muscle spasms in my neck, like inhumane suffering in
my neck. it was bloody awful. i walked home and the pain was
just nasty and vicious and the ambulance came, then the pain
stopped and the muscle spasms just stopped when the
ambulance people got out, and the voice said the Queen had
ordered my torture

i cant remember the dates exactly, on rispiridone i was
pretty much knocked out for a few months, like didnt go out
much, sleeping on the sofa, just watching dvd box sets of
friends(sorry marlowe, i dont like it any more i swear). i
had the voices for a few months on it i think, then around
christmas the voices went away for like 2 or 3 months. and i
flushed the tablets down the sink because i thought they
were pointless. when i told my nurse he changed me to
injections and he came every month to the house. the voices
came back and stayed constantly. i changed to aripiprazole
because of the weight gain issues, the voices are the same.

sorry to hear that sounds like a side effect of the drug but
like you said the voices went away for 3 months then you
stopped taking risperidone and they came back anyway i'm
really happy that you are getting treated none of us can
convince you that the voices aren't real but you should talk
about them to your doctor

so it sounds like he's missed some quality xltronic!

we did the thing where moms arrange it and there's the
thing where i'm hosted over there once and he was hosted
over at old house once. and i was like: "cool, when are we
doing that again?" and mom's answer effectively was: "we're
not, because we're not jewish enough." i asked what that
meant and mum laughed.

i'm worried about lewis. he contacted me on a new number,
confidently jesting, "my old phone was taken by aliens into
outer space" and, actually, i don't really know exactly how,
but from his tone i know he's saying this as a joke, to
cover up the fact that he smashed his phone -- we're
probably over at least two dozen smashed phones by now --
during a dissociative episode. and we chat a bit and he's
alright. but i haven't been able to get in touch with him
recently and i'm worried, because he actually hasn't done
that for a while and now he's done it again and not hearing
from him. i wish he'd take his olanzapine

what are the voices like, are they like indistinguishable
from when someone speaks to you 'irl'?

>>> torah, tanakh, talmud, maimonides, the times.
London or NY?
