you know what makes this guy a threat? i actually sort of
like him. same as newt gingrich, really. karl rove a distant
third in comparison. all three, though, if they weren't in
power, they might actually be p. cool

in power, though, christie like "time for some traffic
problems in new york" as petty revenge against a political
rival. if he were actually president, he would rapidly
become fundamentally unlikable

we haven't had a politics thread in a bit.

i just noticed that christie's strategy is... well:
LAZY_TITLE he says

- jan 6 darkest day and the donald responsible
- trump is unfit for office because of the classified
documents
- covid is real, donald gave him covid at a debate and he
almost died
- trump is a three-time loser who is shits his pants at the
thot of debating the former governor of new jersey

[last one, yeah, probably first time i'll want to watch a
debate in over a decade. if they debate... my god, trump
should grease his arsehole up in advance]

christie's strategy: the republicans have been this
unbreakable wall of fox news lies. some believe them, not
all. democrats can't call out these lies because they've
been branded as liars by the republican liars. christie,
however, has republican creds, so he can flip the script on
them. walk through and decimate donald with them with a
christie-size wrestling grab for the moderate center of
america, which, believe it or not, does still exist

thots?

i imagine it's a lot of snorting noises, like waking sleep
apnea? i don't know. perhaps you're right. i've posted on
here before -- this is shorter but using the same words --
that part of what makes a president is a good voice. because
you're hearing this fucker on the radio over the supermarket
loudspeaker for four years. i then went on to describe
trump's voice as "tiny balls mixed with gravel" and i meant
that comment on multiple levels

that being sead, have you heard what he says in those
five minutes?

"trump called me fat -- take a look in the mirror, guy"
just, like, quality zingers. trump thinks everything he says
is the word of god so he doesn't put any effort into his
zingers etc

there's a famous incident where hunter s. thompson and
richard nixon spent a few hours together in the back of a
car, not joking. that nixon had personally selected thompson
out of the entire press pool, because he knew thompson was a
fucking mental [american] football fanatic. nixon told
thompson: "i have one condition: all we can talk about for
the whole ride is football. everything else is off limits."

thompson agreed and said of it all, "we actually had a
lovely ride," effectively. if you want the full arc, read
fear and loathing on the campaign trail

and christie, like -- he'd be quality as a regular at a
local bar. as long as you avoid politics
