i got doubt, perverse, and liquidizer from a used store on newbury st. in boston called CD spins in, oh, 2001 probably. 50c each, i think. everyone had stopped listening to them by then. i bought 'em, though, because -- yes, you guessed it -- i had an mp3 of the aphex twin remix on my hard drive. there was the initial "oh this is not aphex twin remix, is it?" but since i'd bought 'em i listened through anyways. most of the songs, i understand your reaction, but -- no, my brain is not irradiated, and some of these aren't their big hits and are still earworm? like, i'll still hum in the shower. i suppose my memory is a bit abnormal, though |

had me enough i bought "london" and i haven't listened to that in at least fifteen years, but i pulled up the track listing, and... yeah, i can remember 2/3 of these, actually... then, yes, i remember this too -- i'm in my dorm room, just started as a freshman at college, and i got a spot on the "chat with mike" internet thing to promote... not sure... but i am 19 and i've just gotten into cubase, and i ask: what synth is that at the start of zeroes and ones? he did not remember |

i read some book mike edwards put up as a PDF on the website because, effectively, "no one's buying it anyways" -- like, for real, that's about what he said. start of the book, they're gearing up for a tour and buy two (2) of everything at a guitar center in boston, and... i think that was actually the one i hung out at during lunch in high school? if i meet him, i can ask about it. and then he'll say he can't remember. then i can have a giggle if he remembers the other question i asked him 20 years ago, to which he also did not remember the answer (it was the book where the lady ate the cough drop instead of merely unwrapping it for him, in case he's released multiple books) |
