that there is, perhaps, news story xyz irritating the piss out of you, and you rant about it on reddit or whatnot. others reply. others see the story for the first time, thanks to your complaining. congratz on feeding it that recently, i have really started to feel: this annoys me, but i am not going to say anything. because that would just feed it. that i'm thinking; this is quite 2023. i'm not even going to mention the this or that bothering the crap out of me because it's horseshit -- because it's horseshit, and me mentioning it would only give it more juice. that i am on the fence about mentioning this whole strategy at all, because... well, recursive raisins... so, risk this is, i merely wanted to say: these days, if some news story is the worst sort of horseshit, the best thing you can do is pretend you didn't see it. don't send it to someone else being all, "oh christ look at this" because then you've propagated horseshit |
