it wasn’t necessary that you mentioned he had a foot
fetish

no, it would be unecessary for me to say he has a large
forehead. that i actually never really even noticed, myself,
until he was complaining one day about how people talked
about his five-hed. and i'm sorry man

but he's in love with uma thurman's feet. it spans multiple
franchises. go back and watch pulp fiction, kill bill... if
you didn't see it before...

...and, i dunno, i view it as legitimate in the context of
discussing his work. that he was making some of those shots
for himself as much as for the movie, let's just say. but
this also leads to: even kubrick probably didn't put this
much focus into shots of feet.

mostly just a footnote (pun accidental, for once) i suppose.
carry on

anyways, the foot thing -- i can't take credit for spotting
that. someone else, can't even remember who, pointed it out.
i went back and watched, and, yes, wow, ok, once you're
looking for it you realize... wiggle your big toe... keeping
vincent vega waiting... dancing... keeps going. and it's all
perfectly logical for the plot and you're not tallying up
how much time the feet get, compared to... most any movie,
really. especially uma's

now i'm getting nostalgic for the board i learned
"five-head" from

wandered off from it because... oh, just too much... "these
people are smoking weed for hours while stuck in traffic in
LA; it has destroyed their minds. the car exhaust fumes you
get exposed to in traffic with the windows down... that's
your IQ going out the window. please, for your brain, hotbox
it. i don't care how hot it is" and yep this place is a bit
far; i was just trying to describe why and look where it
went

ought to check back there

quentin tarantino comes off as an ass in interviews and
stuff. not very much unlike richard d. james. so but with
both i have to admit every time i consume it, they make
pretty dope art

american boy ~ utterly charming little film. martin
scorsese, still on cocaine -- you can tell from the
rapid-fire speech -- goofing around and smoking joints with
his friends as a frame story for one of his buddy... just
telling the best stories he has in his repertoire.
including... i won't spoil it... one thing quentin tarantino
lifted directly and put into pulp fiction. i won't spoil
it.

i actually don't mind him lifting this, in particular
because he took a verbal story and transformed it into an
actual scene with actors. but i do get to thinking how
someone said something to the effect of, "all his stuff is
just a collage of other movies. he used to work in a video
store and he'd just watch movies for hours and that's where
it all comes from"

but same with most art, really.
