he mentioned he had a doctor's appointment this week

i'm in the process of changing doctor's practice, got an
appt next wk if can't tough out the physical side. depends
on the doctor you get but most will tell you to not stop
drinking just cut down, or give you a week's benzo taper at
most

this hasn't been going on long enuf for really bad
physicals, it's just like i've been gradually turning down
the contrast on life, i would like to see again

i suppose the general feeling is that he was effectively
saying the situation was going to come to a head, and the
most likely answer is that it has somehow. from there it's a
bunch of entangled qubits

...and perhaps either the physicals or his verbal
descriptions were alarming enough that they decided to hang
on to him for a bit, if only out of sheer precaution, and
that's why he can't get to his fone. it's a reasonable
interpretation that would also likely result in him being
more or less alright. i hope he's alright

but it's also possible he's decided we're a bunch of weird
lame sad trolls and see ya suckaz he's just quit xlt
and he's out at da club right now

> Belb

alright, so i'll bust out the proper guns. that lewis,
countless times, has essentially been like "i need to go to
the freaking hospital." called an ambulance for himself of
three separate occasions when we were cohabitating. another
i drove him there myself, and -- you have to laugh,
sometimes -- i saved the paper from that one, because it
says, rough quote, "you were admitted to the hospital
because you believed something was eating your brain." after
i stopped giggling, i thought: you missed the part about how
they're putting mithril in his eyes. how satan is going to
slit him from anus to sternum

and belb did not seem anywhere near that bad. relapsed on
drinking and stressing on it like a normal coherent adult.
then he has a doctor's appointment, and, well, another page
from lewis, perhaps he went in there with genuine intent
being honest about his drinking and asking for a few benzos
to draw down and the doctor was all "shiiii--"

or perhaps it was an equitable discussion and the doctor was
all "come hang out in the ward for a few weeks to dry out
safely and for sure" and belb was all "alright"

if i had to go pessimism: someone did send him acid and it
was too much. which would be utterly unfair, because no one
sent me acid. or, he mentioned shakes, and, well, drinking
went too far one night, and... doubt he fell out, but could
be a less voluntary stay

general consensus from the weasel network is he's sorting
out some shit and give it a moment. i am cautiously
optimistic it'll be one of those things where he'll just pop
back in eventually and say "i feel much better now"

how does hospital commitment work in UK? in this area you're
held for three (3) business days minimum typically; weekend
will extend it

Epics: from a far enough/outside perspective we would
probably be as indistinguishable as ants are from one enough
i imagine.

glad you're ok!!

alcohol seems to have a really potent allure for coping
(anxiety, stress, etc) but it always ends up being such shit
for that, for me anyway. It totally backfires. The
exception, I guess, is when it's in a social setting, but
then it's probably being around some other people that
helped rather than the booze.

hopefully everything's on the up and up dude.
