Guess it doesn't really matter where you are in a nuclear
war, you wouldn't want to survive it anyway

its gotta be some sort of scam isnt it?
lets look at the numbers, ok uks numbers are pretty bad
38% coal, 28% gas, 21% nuclear, 11% renewable
uk heavily relies on fossil fuel, and a third is gas...
still, how do prices quadruple?
well, no reserves...
"The UK’s stores hold enough gas to meet the demand of
four to five winter days, or just 1% of Europe’s total
available storage. The Netherlands has capacity more than
nine times the UK’s, while Germany’s is 16 times the
size."

for germany: just 13%! of our electricity is generated with
gas and germany still somehow managed to buy putins gas
until our reserves were almost completely filled, to make us
go through winter with it.
still the market price tripled.

like we know the oil companies recently overcharge germany
20ct more than they need to, just because they can screw us
over...

anyway, time to harvest some wind and sun.
uk should be able to reach 30% from wind in no time at all,
like within 2-3 years if they really want it.
im actually stunned at how small uk renewables are.
also the uk has got to invest more into thermal insulation.

we´re paying 100€ for the two of us in a 75m2 flat btw.
so we´re not getting off cheap anyway,
but this is roughly what we´ve been paying for many years
now.

selling musical equpiment is really fucked though :(

Yes to be told your electricity bill is increasing by 500% a
month is brown trouser time, i was expecting maybe 3 times
at most but this is beyond a piss take.

im really scared about the upcoming gas bill.
usually we each have about 100€ to put away in savings
each month, so doubling the heating will be tough to make
rent. so far the government gives its all to pay for it.
my wife and me got paid 450€ each in advance to compensate
for upcoming bills and there is talk about fixing the price
too. we got paid twice because we´re on social benefits and
got the money from a programme for working people aswell.
lucky!

we´re trying to save gas & electricity all the time btw,
because its cash. so we use all the tricks in the book
including showering but every other day, but there is only
so much you can do and not turning up the radiator will
result in a cold and mold.

yes it feels like some sort of time period that you read
about in History class, naively never thought i would
experience it myself! I just hope we are able to eat and
drink!

Can't really see the light at the end of the tunnel at the
moment, fortunately i'm not depressed but i think some
people are really going to top themselves with the way
things are going

oh yeah, i constantly get reminded of all the parallels to
the 1920s and how that turned out. depression, plague,
inflation, fascist governments, invasions, ww2. mostyl i
feel we learned our lessons and we´re really doing our best
to dodge every bullet so far, but at the same time it feels
like reading about the road to ww3.

my instruments are just toys really, not a big deal to sell
them.thats what im telling myself lol.

we're living in the world, there will be areas that are
chaotic and areas that are peaceful and prosperous. history
has always been that way. it's looking like usa and europe
will be dark and cold. beat the trend, move abroad, away
from the potential chaos:-) i know thats not suitable for
everyone.

out on the moors in a thunderstorm, might do me good to use
the PC less, well thats what im telling myself!

...while freezing in the dark :/
pretty much everyone in my whatsapp status is posting pics
of exotic vacations all year around. the world is a crazy
place. it just seems to become more absurd every year.

update:
got new prices for next year.
40 ct per kwh, before it was 30 and 27cts in new year and
summer. apparently this is the highest they will be able to
go because the government put a hold on it.
