we live in a world that has experienced price run ups in
tulip bulbs, beanie babies and ephemeral bits of ones and
zeroes, so no surprise there. exchange value always trumps
use value

although maybe the play is to buy lots with trashed single
family homes and build multi unit rental properties

so i had a plod around before running my mouth, and my
conclusion utterly unchanged:

although maybe the play is to buy lots with trashed
single family homes and build multi unit rental
properties

completely this. lots of rich republican inbreds (with the
aforementioned $200k credit loudly announced to an audience
of questionable impressiveness) seem to think they can now
swoop in and get shit cheap: condos, a destroyed lot, and
the even richer republicans, multi-unit rental, sure, but
that's more the bailiwick of a small handful of
multi-million corporations that have gradually been
plundering the south... and everywhere else...

that i do hope it will be like, "ahaha, another six
hurricanes will hit that distressed property, then it will
be underwater, you thought you and your money were taking
advantage of someone again, now ur fukd lol"

but no they'll just scream and use their connections and the
federal government will spend trillions before their fucking
retarded "investments" fall into the ocean anyways. then
we'll have that moment where elton john called his agent
from a hotel, complaining furiously that the thunder outside
was too loud, and i need you to do something about it right.
now

i'm just picturing florida 2030:

public safety officer: ma'am, you need to evacuate
right now, because your house is about to become a new fish
habitat. if you don't leave, you will die, and no one is
fucking compensating you for moving

florida resident: this is unacceptable. i'd like to
speak with a manager
