First to be clear i'm not talking about the stockhausen thing
But I'm vaguely remembering an article where some guys had
Pierre Boulez (but it sounds too absurd, maybe it was Ligeti
or someone) listen to Girl/Boy song, and he said that it was
okay except the drums were unnecessary and unfortunate, or
something to the effect.
Does it ring anyone's bell..... It's hard to find anything
on google these days.
xoxo

it´s odd FOR ME that anybody would not be into girl/boy
song immediately. gotta be one of the most virtuous, yet
catchy and uplifting aphex tunes. but then people could
appraise 1000 acclaimed songs to me and it could be just meh
in my ears. especially if i was a master at a genre as
boulez probably is at classical music. so what does he care
about some genre crossover.

just on the track that sounds like an outtake from SAW 2,
amazing track

Yeah its an amazing track, perhaps some people aren't
mentally ready for it cos its so different to what they
normally would listen to, i think peoples brains get stuck
in a rut sometimes and their expectations take a certain
route, so if they are exposed to something really new or
novel, they can't understand it or appreciate it

love a bunch of zappa music but wasnt fond of most of zappas
classical compositions either nor the one boulez conducted.

one of the most annoying things in life has got to be the
eager face of some bloke waiting for your reaction on
something THEY like. its just bound to fail.

cmon now how long ca 5 sec.s be?

different stuff is hard to appreciate,
we seem to learn music.
despite the difference of girl/boy song to other music
i find it easy to understand or follow its rhythm and
harmony,
so maybe boulez (if that was him) just didnt like it or was
kind of pissed or annoyed by some kid doing something rad as
that to music in an instrumentation and with a medium he
didnt use.

what i love about the track is that it really plays into my
ears, which may mean that it uses paths and patterns my
brain already knew, but really pushed the envelope whilst
doing that.
i love that about well played drum breaks for example.
as i love it in guitar solos that just are on top notch note
permutations.

It took me a while to really get into Aphex in a big way cos
I was just used to listening to stuff with a guitar and
voice, now I prefer music without a voice now!

LAZY_TITLE

In other news, the NME confused my Aphex blog with Richard's
personal blog which made me laugh.
