these were great for a while, reggie watts etc. but now
it's like any self-promotional cunt finds a breadcrumb and
gets on stage with cloying grandiose tones. like, We could
change. Everything

discuss.

i must've missed the good years, ted talks have always been
insufferable corporate bullshit in my experience

A good TED talk would be done anonymously.

(heck, I think the best stuff in life is not assigned to a
person/'brand')
Then it's pure.

But TED talks are like everything else. Intellectual
handjobs for people trying to be famous among their
identical friends.

Hard pass.

reggie watts takes the piss out of TED talks

it did have its moments; it still does at times... but much
further and fewer in between than 2012. that TED talks, i
feel, started off decent, then it became ingrained in
popular culture and that's when every self-promotional
bloviator began fighting over it like americon idol

it's always been laughable, ted and tedx. All of 'em. Bunch
of wank.
It was funny when they deleted Graham Hancock vids, as if
they have some kind of 'scientific rigour' to uphold.
That said, the Sam Hyde Tedx is one of the funniest things
I've ever seen and couldn't have existed without.
