too shy, even with a few drinks. but dancing used to be that
way and now i'm good with it after a few drinks. so i'll
just keep practicing and maybe i'll manage it before i'm too
old for a few drinks

my grandfather was in some military thing, i think it was
just reserve, but mum said he would play piano and sing for
beer money (and reportedly he needed quite a bit of it).
that he could just do more or less anything upon request. so
i am a bit annoyed with myself, that, like, yes, kind of a
sampler brain myself; if i really leaned on it i could be
like him there. but only so much time in the day and i've
chosen modular synthesis

Do it by yourself or just sing and bring up a hottie or o
help once your 1/2 way through

I’d nverhave done it cause I was always solo at music
shows
But somehow I have friends now and yeah!!!!!

The ex fiancé prol would have
The ex soon to be not ex wouldn’t have but now maybe kinda
might

You’re obviously confident so do it

well i guess if i were with a group of people i trusted and
everyone was drunk i'd probably manage it. but, i dunno,
i've kind of snuck into groups like that here and there, but
i really don't have anything like that going on right now. i
don't have a functioning car and many of my friends don't
either. then one of the one that does is clearly going
through some shit with his boyfriend and his job and he
freaked out and blocked me kinda randomly over something
rather trivial. but then he's like 6'3" and 200lb and
collects vinyl and vintage video games and pinball machines
and he's not exactly the proverbial hottie i can bring up to
back me up halfway anyways. but fuck, you idiot, i was
showing you my music gear and then i just got lost in
playing with it and you didn't complain you just went up and
started reprogramming the wavestation without even saying a
word and we got a great recording. that's more my speed than
kareoke. i figure he'll come to his senses eventually

also the first ten minutes of me singing is typically crap,
it actually feels like... oh god this impossible... but then
it kind of warms up an i can hit notes. same as my muscles
when i wake up in the morning. so with kareoke it's like,
even if i warm up beforehand, i'm waiting 20-30 minutes for
a go perhaps, and, meh. just like exercise, you need to be
up there a bit before you can go in cold

also i've been to shit local bars with ye olde mix of
geezers and blue collar and hot chicks belting out wild
thing and never been really inclined to throw myself in the
mix there. i'd rather drink alone and sing in the attic

i actually don't even like watching that, to be frank.
especially if they have it cranked loud.

when i lived back in my hometon (getting on for 20 years
ago) there was a regular karaoke night we'd hit up drunk.
i'd usually just watch but once i apparently did a very
blurry version of motorhead's ace of spades then fell off
the stage. sounds about right

Yeah it’s pretty retarded
You don’t have to Epix

i never had that. for me, it's more going to the bar one
nite and oh there's kareoke and they're all crap and i was
just there for two beers, numerous onion rings, and a shot,
not some drunk 48yo divorced woman singing, oh god, make it
stop

but i didn't even realize there were replies. i just came
back to this thread to say: i have sung the black keys album
"el camino" over and over and i could probably do anything
off that. mind eraser probably suits my range best but stop
stop, gold on the ceiling, much more fun

i could also maybe swing a bunch of tracks off the eponymous
kasabian album

I use Smule from time to time, usually when I'm drunk
enough. It's fun. I met a few cool/crazy peeps there who
don't give much damn about how accurate they sound. And not
there for self-promotion. Just fun. Like me.
