that this was arguably everything i ever wanted when i was
16 but it's all so incredibly fucking dumbed down that it's
unusable and making everyone rapidly stupider and what is a
good standalone music player so i can leave my shitfone at
home when i go on a wok? because i am so, super tired of its
fucking. horseshit

i used to fantasise about something exactly like facebook
when I was 14, when i had a psion series 3a... talk 2 all
your friends in your pocket, 24/7
tiny dumbphone + proud of it (oh, and a Planet Computing
Gemini [psion series 5 kybd] , running Debian :))

it's like a weird Monkeys Paw version of the 1990s imagined
future, that we live in...

i still use a 10 year old sansa clip+ for music on the go.
oled screen, micro sd slot. in theory you can use 32gb
cards, but it takes ages to "refresh" when you turn it on,
so i just use an 8gb card, the internal memory is 8gb as
well so 16gb.

there's one good use for smartphones and thats if youre
travelling. i couldn't imagine what a pain in the ass that
would have been before smartphones [terence mckenna lost in
prague].

The idea of a transcendental object at the end of time is
certainly a interesting idea, and probably a really good
concept for a hawkwind album

i was thinking McKenna actually MAY have been a CIA asset
the other day.... there is of course that one bit taken out
of context where he says he is "working for the musrhooms"
or whatever, but he never talks about any attempt to recruit
him to my knowledge, and that would have CERTAINLY happened

documentary from 1991 where they show inside of the
Chernobyl reactor with all the melted fuel, really freaky
stuff. Its not on youtube for some reason
