I want a Batman so gritty and depressing that one can't
watch it without killing themselves

Then a lighthearted reboot to follow.

i liked iron man (2008) then i look away for a little bit
and it's spawned dozens of spider baby movies and people are
talking about thor and the alternate universe and while i am
completely able to accept crap like vin diesel's "perfect
dark" within the context of a single movie... just, i dunno.
this comic book movie shit is somewhere in between a
brainwash cult and when you've jerked off too many times but
you're still trying anyways and meanwhile your life is
ending one second at a time

while i'm here, i've read some snorri, the actual norse
sagas, and it annoys the piss out of me that a generation of
kids is now growing up thinking of thor as that movie twat
instead of the badass he was

you know. if you actually read the norse sagas, there is a
distinct whiff of the jungian. some sort of mussing with the
shared architecture of metaphor we all have. like, that it's
waking up and starting to consider itself

then, shit, if you r00t a jungian archetype can you
collectively reprogram people? those who are into drinking
diarrhea anyways

perhaps this is how both madonna and david bowie operate(d).
but everyone hates madonna and loves david bowie; i'm sure
there's a reason but snorri never got around to writing it
up

i suppose it probably plays down to stock characters that a
commercialized society eagerly fills in with monetized
horseshit.

i dunno, that, perhaps, there is some need in people for a
thor. and this has been recognized by disney, and they wound
not flinch at grinding tens of thousands of souls into a
pulp in order to control this for financial gain: fuck off,
we own thor now. we're putting him on a mcdonald's cup

used to feel good about religion starting to fall on the
unfashionable list, then i saw it start to go other places,
like Movie Twat Thor and qanon. i've had fun designing my
own ontology and it works for me but some days i wonder if
i'm obligated thoughtfully jam a pipe wrench into the gears
simply because i see it's not been going anywhere good as of
late

i would argue that stories are at the basis of any human
mind. fight club turning this into a sort of distilled
perfume: i am jack's bile. i am jack's inflamed sense of
rejection

homeric epics, the aeneid, jews biblically fjording the
desert... these effectively form a package-ready "here's the
history up until now and now you know what to do next."
like, don't eat shellfish -- because when we are writing
this, shellfish is some rank shit. and it helps people
survive. but it also causes loads of really brutal wars. now
disney owns the characters that make up our soul; who we are
and how we decide to act. disney+ to go up five quid a month
in march

it's kind of nauseating to consider how much Disney has
taken over: xyz was common folklore; now people know it as a
Disney movie. Snow white, Cinderella. Robin hood a long game
promo for Zootopia
