Does braindance/idm blogs exist?

I'm trying to promote my new album but I don't know any
experimental electronic music blogs, that would go for
leftfield (or whatever you'd call a bunch of different
genres) music. Google-searches leaves me with to much
EDM-shit to sort it out.

Any leads?

LAZY_TITLE

i'll give it a listen on the strength of this place tho. and
i'd ask why you do business w/ spotify?

the spotify thing, sorry, just hearing about it recently.
the whole joe rogan thing is playing out like the obvious
arc it is... but, like, a year ago, musician i quite respect
who has a policy of "sample anything of mine you want, just
credit it, it's cool" comes out on this tear -- you cannot
sample me and put it on spotify, i will murder you

and this is where i started to gather spotify is something
more deeply bad than pandora reducing everything to 128kbps.
but even after neil's diamond meltdown, i still didn't
really understand. finally, npr did me a favor: you don't
get paid a slice per stream, per se. there's a pie, and
unless you are in the top, i dunno, hundred or five people
streaming, you would be lucky to make enough to buy a happy
meal. the people like taylor swift and the weaknd get all
the money everyone pays spotify and the people who get a
mere 100k streams a month, sorry, fuck off, we're just going
to give the subscribe fees / ad dollars people contributed
to stream your track 100k times to taylor swift and the
weaknd thanks for participating in the music industry

anyways, sorry. i'll listen to your album. i can't predict
how it will integrate with weaselpedia. i'd recommend you
send spotify out the airlock; they'll never pay you anyways
it sounds. if that's wrong somehow, well, i've yet to hear a
contrary perspective

the closest i can think of is facebook groups tagged "idm,
leftfield, electronic" etc.. or have a paid service promote
you in social media. however we just had that discussion
that prmoting in social media is like trying to fill the
ocean with pennies. so id suggest just looking out for
scoail media groups yourself and sell your album on as many
platforms you can.

there may be people on board with better hints though!

deezr terms of service: "by checking our box on distrokid,
we hereby own your masters, and you are legally obligated to
suck the cock of any permanent employee of deezr at penalty
of foreskinning all future streaming revenue [62p,
optimistically]"

i had a very honest conversation with myself, that i was not
built for touring, nor would i ever be, i'd wind up in the
hospital and then rehab, and you can't really not be taylor
weaknd and be a professional musician and not be homeless
unless you can swing touring revenue. then i guess that
might be good if you're good at it; enjoy it. tour all over
and break even; nothing left for retirement. but not a bad
run

Thanks for the response.

Regarding the Spotify thing; It's just part of the DistroKid
package. I really don't care if I earn anything on this
music (you can stream your heart out for free on SoundCloud
for instance), I just want to be spread out to any listener
that might feel the album and enjoy it.
Bandcamp has been my favorite tool for many years, but to be
honest, most common people out there actually find it
confusing and have a hard time conforming to the platform.
SoundCloud is great, but when you put up a track and only
spammy bots comment and like, it just underlines the small
reach I have.

In my search for getting in touch with bloggers I found this
page called submithub.com, which basically is a 'pay per
track' service, where they guarantee to get you played and
reviewed on different sites. But to be honest, selecting one
track off my record doesn't really earn it justice. It's
very much targeted towards an avid album-listener. Also,
that site seems a tiny bit scammy.

i'm mostly just being old man crab and decrying the abuse,
but... i'm not wrong. by checking each of those boxes, i
112% guarantee you agreed to an individual, intricate,
complex legal agreement with each one. this was swept into
some other checkbox you forgot from the signup process two
months ago; by checking this box you agree that checking
other boxes lets us legally saddle you with agreement upon
agreement. that i have an anxiety attack when confronted by
such a menu of options yet most people are content to make
50p and "be spread out," are you considering the price? be
spread out, sure. but through these bastards? i wouldn't

but just my opinion and stuff, man. good album so far

politics (glitch mix) is all 90's hey let's run the drums
through a vocoder, or maybe i haven't figured that out and
i've tried to make something that sounds like that somehow
else and right, that works. but i have to express a certain
amount of irritation with time bandits, a million people
taking acid in the 90s have recorded this song before.
better job that i'd have done with it tho

augh god now i have to skip through BOC trax until i find
it
actually first i'll have listened to them in years. i don't
say that to be mean. i just prefer fast intricate machines
made of drum sounds

politics (glitch mix) drums are actually two modulated
drum-machine vsts, playing in each stereo channel, creating
some flangy spacious beat. I had that running on top of the
politics track (which is actually a different ambient
project, set to release soon), and kinda build the remix on
that.

time bandits is a combination of a 2006 recording of a
drummer-friend of mine, which I later dubbed with my
bass-guitar, and then even later mixed together to form this
track.

it's probly from MHTRTC. sometimes I just end up making
synth-sounds and chord-progressions that sound like
rip-offs, but really is my mind subconsciously spitting out
boc inspired stuff. I had to cut tracks that were too close
to home on that account.

actually I think it could be a combination of the
synth-sound of Kid For Today and the melody of Amon Bishop
Roden. funny I didn't hear that before. I'll just call it an
ode now.

facebook is the best place to spam your music if you want to
find an audience.

i get far more traffic on fb than any other site.

spam on the groups.

if you used hardware join the groups for the hardware you
used and spam there, if you used software join the software
groups.

some groups to search on facebook: hardware jams, we are the
music makers, members of xltronic, synthesizers and drum
machines, idm. etc.

modwiggler.com has a spam your own tunes section.

there's an xltronic one run by tony danza/fleetmouse that

we are reasonable people discord

can you play live at all? your local area might have a
'scene'. would be good to make friends and share your music.

it helps that your music is great. im sure it will find an

thanks. so i'll carry on and spam.

yeah, been playing live for 20 odd years, but the scene in
my city is narrow. things are opening up more following
post-covid restrictions here though, but i did have a better
reach when living in the capitol for sure.

great work!
certainly boc comes to mind especially track 4 & 11 and they
do have some resemblance. maybe boc should have put out some
more music .-)
when i hear your nice sounding guitar and drum styles i
could think about some other quality musicians,
but i dont really have to, right?

8. exploring the chill is just so well made
like this one very much
12. pink versper
i think this could be my fav track of the album.
id love you to further pursue this style
it´s just the perfect finisher here.

Thank you.
Nice to hear that you enjoyed 'exploring the chill', cause i
had to swap the main drumsample, because there was no way i
could clear the original sample i used, so to my ears it
always feels a bit off, 'cause of my demo-nitis.
Pink Vesper seems to be a favorite overall. I might do an
extended mix of it for an EP. If you like the style of Pink
Vesper, then check out the Marco Passarani album 'Sullen
Look' - i was very much inspired by that album, especially
for the bass composition.

what really soured me on discord was the ground-floor social
pressure to cash the individual discord. BOOST, ok. can i
pay twenty quid and get us more things? oh... um... no, i
have to pay every month, and another 15 people also have to
pay every month, or we delete all the good shit

enjoy that.
