i saw "hackers" in the theater when i was 9 and this was the first time i'd herd orbital and underword and prodigy and more. at the time, my music consumption options were limited to riding my bike to the sam goody in the center of town and the clerk recommending green day and so i just buy tapes and CDs -- because tapes were cheaper than CDs and i could squeeze one more on -- and one of my gambles was "ok computer" by radiohed because it had computer in the title and the cover is some impressionistic video color invert ok sure then i can't even tell you what half the songs on it sound like still because i immediately hated it, stopped playing it, you wasted one of the three albums i could have biked out for this month so not clicking. |
