Rain droplets shook free of Marlowe's clenched his fists as he walked down the alley. His girlfriend followed a few paces back. "Why can't they see how much BETTER I am than all of them? My taste in music, my political philosophies... they're all a bunch of... phoney charlatans! The Americans..." A gust of wind snatched the rest of the words away. She'd heard it all before. She didn't know if she was still with him out of routine, or because she simply hated herself. A car crossed in front of them. A happy couple inside. She wanted to cry. Maybe Marlowe wouldn't notice in the rain. Something rustled near their feet. A fetid, dirt caked homeless man was peering out from behind some trash bags. He raised a shaking hand and pointed his finger at Marlow. "Who the fuck is that idiot?" the man said in a raspy voice. "Poor thing! You must be freezing!" Marlowe's girlfriend knelt down to put her coat over the man. As she did so their eyes locked. There was a beauty in them she'd never seen. There was life. "He's nobody. Let's get out of here." Marlowe stood, dumbfounded as his girlfriend walked away with the stinking hobo. As the turned out of the alley he could hear him say "That guy fucking sucked!" |

I have a house in Fresno (central california), pay 900 a month in mortgage. Lived there for most of the last 13 years. I still often make the 3 hour drive work in the Bay though, but my gf (10+ years, prolly just read it as wife) and I stay at my mom's house in the Palo Alto area when I'm in town. If I was to rent there, it'd be $2,500+ a month. A lot of my coworkers rent in San Jose for about $1800. Sorry, I can't remember where you're generally located? if you're inclined to say. |

Yeah I don't feel like writing any more. Honestly I want the thread to go away. It did it's job. It's not about making Marlowe feel bad, but rather creating a conditioned response so overwhelmingly negative that he stops instigating his stupid fucking ego driven bullshit. Phoney Charlatan? I never purported to be anything at all, and certainly didn't claim any lasting consciousness expansion from a 20 minute full throttle DMT trip. Putting aside that I'm not even sure you CAN have that sort of experience with DMT in it's straight up, non-MAOI accompanied form, I'm quite sure Marlowe believes the end game of psychedelics are breaking yourself down until you hold nothing but collectivistic good will, you become a commune loving hippie. Or hipster in his case. Because that's where his trips end up. I think psychedelics don't tell you anything at all. They just reveal yourself to yourself. I've never had a trip where I wasn't an individualist, anti-authoritarian cynic before, during, and after the trip... because if I'm claiming to be anything, that's all I'm claiming. That's who I am. Trying to explain stuff like that to Marlowe is pointless. The most he's capable of is throwing out one unresponsive line throwing an easy label at you, because he thinks simply thinks he's better. That's what a piece of shit does, and he's only gotten worse in the last decade. Whatever though. I have more stories I can write if he tries it again. |

It's also been shown through fMRIs that the part of your brain that GETS bored, the default problem solving part that is generating your cognitive experience right now, is almost completely shut down on a heavy tryptamine pyschedelic like acid or mushrooms. Instead you're making new connections everywhere between odd parts of the brain. And music has never, ever sounded like THAT before. Not recommending it because it can also be frightening and deeply introspective-- but boring? Not pyschs, not unless you're taking them all the time like a retard. |
