cooler

really weird way

if the Gopher protocol was made as open as Berners-Lee made
his thing, we may all be speaking Gopher...
its funny how ppl think major developments were the 'only
way' things could have progressed but looking at it in
retrospect it is so dependent on popularity... hah although
i don't think that applies to wheels or wings ...
(talking about speech synths, the 'thank you' bit off end of

yeah its funny thinking that the web i still fairly linear
in some regards, feels like it could have more parallel
functionality rather that just gliding from tab to tab, but
that's another topic!

Mother of all demos is one of the most mindbending vids, it
several concepts that are so ahead of there time brought
together than it will probably never be surpassed,
especially in computing

" windows, hypertext, graphics, efficient navigation and
command input, video conferencing, the computer mouse, word
processing, dynamic file linking, revision control, and a
collaborative real-time editor."

as wiki points out

I quite like the idea behind that Xanadu project for certain
applications, would be great to have an article and then all
the references to it as blocks you could move to, and i
guess the relevance could be signified by something like the
colour of the physical link, or opacity or something, fun
little project
