i got a pretty nice plain blue one in the mail today. do
you wear ones with designs? most of mine are skateboard
brands. i've been collecting neetbux and it pays really
well, so i've been thinking about using some money to get my
printer & t shirt press going again to make t shirts for
myself and start a shitty clothing label. i don't know what
the cool kids wear these days.

cant tell you what the cool kids wear. the nerds from my
knitting circle wear these hip retro gaming/comic/movie/tv
show fan shirts. rick & morty, etc. some even have regular
shippings of surprise shirts. mostly abbrevations and
crossovers of those branded themes. like darth vaders "i
want you" uncle sam crossover.
big market, but hard to compete with i guess and of course
if you wanted to do it by the book lots of licensing
involved.

the boss son student wears a lot of print-shop stuff, like
quotes and random lines that he and his math co-eds use.
this kind of stuff always seem to have a niche existence.
especially the graduating stuff. havent seen many but maybe
that expands with the hash tag culture.

on telly i saw people are willing to pay crazy amounts of
money for old original band shirts from the 80s now. kind of
a collectors madness.

i still dig my nba/team shirts, but most of my life i have
been wearing plain or the occasional generic department
store fake vintage brand desings. the fit is more important
to me now. you know show my ceps, make my back seem broad
instead of hunched.

with small capacity it might be smart to print out of stock
brands. or customized art. are you fast at vectorizing or
finding vector art?
the last shirt i got printed was the old seattle supersonics
logo on a green tee. made the vectors myself. since the team
moved to oklahoma i havent seen anyone re-print.

if you wanted to design for yourself,
what would you have in mind?
most of the time good things happen
from doing what you really like.

come to think of it i would really like to have shirts that
have colored or partially colored shoulder and sleeves. just
stripes and geometrical stuff as it was common in the 70s
80s. they look fly to me and divert attention from the belly
but brings it towards arms & shoulders instead.

for any abstract pictures its a must to have them go all
around the shirt.
its worth to think about graffitti too.

really would like to have a press myself and thought about
making stencils with a cutter knife to use with acryl paint
numerous times, but never had any great ideas for cool
taglines or fake brands like ebola cola.

i have a vast pool of white undershirts and then from there
a vast pool of grey hanes t-shirts and then i have some
black, blue and green hanes t-shirts, then some actual ones
with graphics, quite a lot really, but, fuck it why wear
that today no one will see it but me

it's also winter and layering, you know, i always just want
a base reference shirt and build up from there. i have some
long-sleeve shirts, but kind of a mosh there -- half "it's
not thermally the right time for this" and half "even if it
were i'd rather preserve this shirt for when i'm not just
klanging about at home"
