so it's not actually an album, it's a program.

this is straight-up brain software. full of weasels. 100th
window indeed

music modulates what you feel emotionally, but you can't
focus because the voice is talking. computer graphic acid
mirror face; too much to process. and the music is still
there, working you like a marionette

well done.

keep people too baffled to process, stuff information into
them while they're distracted -- and the music provides the
emotional side of the program

the face one is really the one that kills it. the other two
there aren't nearly as gnarly sidechannel

have they got versions without the voices talking over?

have they got versions without the voices talking
over?

that's exactly it. i thought exactly the same thing! i was
annoyed. hey, i wanted a song... later, i thot: oh, i'm
being selfish. the world is shit right now, godspeed if you
want to be political instead of musical.

later it dawned on me that the face one is actually a
fucking full-on brainwashing attempt... or, well, matrix
upload, if you will. to upload a complex structure of thot
into a lot of people at once and pollenate

they're trying to do the same thing with the other two, but
the visuals don't grab you like the face one does, so it
doesn't work. my theory on this is that we're hardwired to
process faces; faces are very important to our brain.
bamboozling that part makes it kind of a monkey trap* as
you're constantly trying to lock on, but never quite getting
there. wait... but... hold on... i... my face is changing...
i can't...

with the map, things grow and change but never quite resolve
into coherent maps, sort of like simulating the tetris
effect. it's not gripping enough to open the door in the
back of my brain like the face one, though.

skull -- weakest of the three. it's visually confusing,
sure, but it gets repetitive very quickly

*monkey trap ~ fruit in a jar. opening is big enough monkey
can get his hand in, but not big enough that he can pull out
his hand while holding the fruit. unwilling to let go of the
fruit, he is trapped.

so how do we feel about a trip hop band stepping up with
some next-gen brainwashing tactics, xltronic?

idm is going to have to step it up a notch, that's for sure

on behalf of idm, i suspect geogaddi was so successful that
even those who made it haven't noticed
