afaik there is Dutch, Irish and German in me. Besides my German grandmother, I think my people have been here on the southern tip of Africa for a few hundred years, so not unlikely I might have a bit of Khoi or Zulu in me. One of these days I’ll sell my dna information to truly know. Technically speaking South African.... we’re a very mixed bunch. Nation states are as real as we make them.

Yeah Dna would be quite fascinating i noticed i have some traits with my mother, there is a slightly larger gap between my index and middle finger, its not noticeable unless you look for it, both my mother and brother have it but my dad didn't, I have mums blood type as well, so does my brother. at my dads funeral my uncles said how much I looked like my dad when he was young, which freaked me out alot

Also Egyptian, i know you didnt get on with your dad, perhaps his parents were better people. Just think of the monuments the colossal monuments Egyptians built. The more or less invented modern civilization. So to have Roman and Egyptian ancestry is ace i reckon. When your ancestors were living in big cities and literate mine were still in mud huts

My grandfather said we fought the Romans in Malta and won. Sounds like a bullshit myth. Lol. The myth was that the Romans struggled in the hills.
Imagine living in ancient Greece or Rome and moaning about Greek Supremacy or Roman Supremacy... You'd be killed for treason...
You cisgendered Greek! You transphobic Roman! Hehe.

my great grandfather on the silesian side was a cooper, who died in the second world war. my grandma, his daughter, had to flee from the russians after the war was over. her bigger sisters got raped by russian soldiers and my grandma was threatened by a drunk general with a gun when she was 5. she was fleeing for a whole year to the northest part of germany where i was born. i remember her telling me that one day she saw a dead horse lying in the middle of the street, which was something that struck her heavily
she had to leave their parents house over night. it belongs to some polish people now. she went back 50 years later with her sisters and knocked on the door. she asked the owners if she could go in the attic. her doll that she hid 50 years ago was still there.
