I just had two questions for ya'll. First, can you
suggest any good software to make drill 'n bass? Also, does
anyone here have Reason that could answer some questions?
Thanks

I think Fruity Loop is a good software.

I've got "reason",...but I only use it to make wave-files of
the loops I create, to further mess things up in wavelab and
sequence my shiznit in Cubase.
Can't really help U on that one,....

software for Drill & Bass however,..I'd suggest U to become
a member of Kazaa and start downloading every audio
application there is. Experiment the hell out of every
program ,and use the one you're most familiar with.

If you're still a musical virgin ,I'd suggest U to start
with something light and easy like Tuareq & hammerhead from
Bram Bos. Maybe after some hours fiddling with that,..check
out the latest installment of Fruityloops.

practice and maybe you'll become the next Aphex

some would say too easy?
its like buying expensive sandwiches from the total garage
next door when you know that for the same price you could
have bought a loaf and a block of cheese?

you can disable the spyware in kazaah. ia manual on how to
do it was in the paper last week but my dad threw it away.
oh well. i hardly use kazaah anyway.

oh and I use fruityloops too :)

Reaktor: stepshifter ensemble(premium pack)
Buzz: Larshaka rIDMa and Q Rebond delay
GRM Tools 1: delays
NI Battery: modulate the drumhit-loopendpoints. You can also
do this in Reaktor

Thanks ya'll! For those who have Reason, I downloaded the
soundcd off of Kazaa, but when I try to use the program, it
asks for a license number. WTF?

Reason is a pain in the cunt to get - you have to download a
huge, i mean HUGE file - and all this other shit as well

I have Fruity Loops, and that suits my needs... not that I
need much, I suck at using it...

I'd have Reason, that's better, but I'm too lazy to find and
download the necessary files and all that shit, and I'm sure
as hell not going to spend money on anything.

Yeah, I've got a mac, which means no f-loops for me. I've
got the demo version of Reason and I love it. It just sucks
it costs so much, cause I sure can't afford it.

REAKTOR(native instruments) is Pissed off, you can make

cubase vst.

Reason is unbelievable. You really have got tons of
possibilities and the user interface is the best/most
intuitive you'll find in any audio app. Version 2's out soon
which is going to crap all over every over music app out
there.

go here for example

it's an awesome program, and isn't priced all that bad
compared to what you get.. so support propellerhead and buy
reason :)

How much RAM is suggested for running Reason well, minimum?

And how much for Fruityloops... I only have 64MB right now,
I should have a little over 160MB later this week,
hopefully.

offline urb from Trondheim (Norway) on 2002-04-24 02:46 [#00191580]

I've run reason with 64mb, no sweat.

what's really important is a fast soundcard. an sb live with
hacked aps live drivers (asio) is the bare minimum. else you
wil get high latency and timing will be all fucked up (the
sb audigy is cheap and will give you only 2 ms latency).

w M w-> u aksing what spyware is?
well...spyware is small programs within a program that sends
information about YOU to all kinds of firm, junkmails and
jerks...

i suggest you check your computer with the program called
ad-aware...it can be downloaded at download.com

I really like Fruity Loops:
It has GREAT possiblities to make all sorts of music! And
LIVE recording knob-movements is also THE tool to give your
songs the right feeling.
It has everything I need at the moment...

SimSynth? Just enough for making pads and stuff. But yeah, I
prefer to use other stuff like Audiomulch (very good!) to
create more experimental sounds.
BUT! Don't forget VST-fx! With VST "you can sound almost
like anything" (I quoted myself :)
