the roots are holding onto the soil differently. gave me a
sense of how quickly things change. these plants are already
adapting and finding ways around my digging technique

so sometimes you get a bramble where the root is not
sclerotic and tangled like kite string. you can get one
thats sort of long and twisted - but if you pull it
right...comes out like a long shit from a sphincter. all in
one go. the smaller roots come with it cos they are set with
the grain of the soil. it dosnt happen that often but yes i
really do enjoy that

i haven't had this experience at all, really, but i do
understand that sense of monitoring the fruits of the earth
and seeing things change

my grandfather, who died when my dad was ten
dad grew up on an old farmhouse and he would literally put
on a boiling pot of water, grab the corn from the stalk, and
run back to the house because the moment you pull it
off the stalk the sugar starts going into starch

the other thing he described, forever lost, was this: root
beer was originally made from sassafras root, which was
eventually banned for being a carcinogen, and every root
beer you have now is just an imitation. my father was frank:
"it doesn't taste as good"

a good thing to do is drive to music for a bit,
on a way to a park,
bet 8 bars stuck in your hed.
march up down down hills on a hiking trail to the beat
breathe in time, let the birds fall in time
done right, you eventually start to feel a weird composite
of yourself and the hiking trail

actually getting high feels annoying most the time

YES. The last few times I got high was like "not this shit
again" and I couldn't wait for it to be over, felt like
being forced to sit through reruns of bad sitcoms.

We grow plants on the front and back galleries, and big pots
of basil and oregano and sage.

don't confuse the behavior of local floura/fauna
with reality
otherwise you risk becoming wavephace

Just as my utterly depressive weekend is coming to an end,
boy was it bad. I guess you have to pass it onto someone!
The show must go on! Pass the torch of depression!

last weekend i was stoned out of my gourd (and a bit drunk)
and i put on some of that new squarepusher. to an external
observer, it might have looked like i was in considerable
discomfort -- darting pacing motions, tension, twitches,
distant stare, jaw dropped, crying. but internally i'm all
SHDFJKSDF THANK YOU and i'm sure if you can imagine
continuously cumming for a minute or two straight my tension
and fidgets would make more sense

but if i smoked weed all day, every day, i'd never hit that
on the weekends, and i think that's where the disconnect
lies
