1. place mask then wash hands: you touch your mask to position in the mouth area before going outside youre practically touching your face. so wash hands afterwards to not spread contamination. 2.a. you touch anything while youre out and touch your mask afterwards (to reposition etc..) it is contaminated, right where you breathe. 2.b. wash your hands returning home BEFORE you take off your mask or it is contaminated by your own hands, that have been touchin doorknobs, groceris, cash, etc, for a certain amount of time or until it is cleaned properly. this sounds rather troublesome to me. if you believe this is an easy task, try it at home for an hour, to not touch or reposition your mask. you may find this more difficult than not touching your face. wearing a mask is mainly preventing the virus from leaving your mouth/nose, so, a mask is mainly useful for people who unknowingly carry the virus, like many of us may do. wearing a mask is also no absolute protection against the virus. some say it is more likely for folks to indirectly touch their face/mouth area while shopping or visiting their kin, thus increasing the risk of contamination instead of minimizing it. think of it as putting a smell or sth on a cloth and then inhaling it with every breath for half an hour. along with people fighting for masks, this may be one of the reason for governments to refrain from mandatory masks. for some of you this may be old news, some may have corrections. please feel free to update or post your ideas on the subject. and stay healthy :) |

If you want to 'train' yourself not to touch your face, have a Video Conference drinks with friends, but make a game that you have to small a shot any time anyone catches you touching your face. ;) |
