What’s the longest you’ve been without eating?
I might have just beaten my record and went 12 days without any food, just liquids. (Which I was throwing up anyway)
So glad to be back! Had a little miso soup on hridsyd, nothing Friday but had a few slices of courgettes yesterday. Today I’ve had a few blueberries and some ratatouille. Baby steps.

My record is about a week on liquids during a particularly vile stomach flu. Never been sicker. I recall the triumph I felt when chicken broth would stay down.

i believe i've written up my adventures with food poisoning over expired milk in my morning coffee. despite repeated attempts (and rejections) i was unable to eat for two or three days. then mercifully, i was able to keep jello down. i cannot explain how grateful i was to that jello. i actually ate scads of it for weeks even after i recovered. heck, kinda want some now

I’m stunned that I’m actually not looking too bad. All my tracksuit bottoms fall off, which isn’t want you want from a comfy pair of tracksuit bottoms. Have to tie my belt way beyond where the whales are now. But yeah, other than skinnier face, legs and arms, I don’t look or feel too bad. : )

i get hunger pains if i go without for more than ~12 hours. the beast that is my belly gets angry if i don't feed it. i'm genuinely almost double the weight i used to be but it's better than being fashionably gaunt. do try and snack if you can't face big meals yet, we don't want you fading away!

yeah, sorry. that sounds worrisome, i hope you're a bit better now
its not that extreme, but im not hungry at all for some days now. i also had a mild fever for three nights and after that a superheavy headache for two days (sinusitis).
today is the first day where i feel better and can actually concentrate on something and walk around without gassing out. after sleeping all day yesterday
but i always tried to get a little food in. a soy shake made of vanilla soy milk and a whole orange helped. its actually pretty tasty but in the last 2 days it wasn't at all. i gulped it down just to get something inside
so, as belb suggested: get some vanilla soy fruit drinks. they have vitamins, proteins, fibres

For a second I thought you had cute whale pants
Tough to say the longest b to can easily go an evening without eating, sometimes the whole day, drinking water, then snacking late at night.
Have had severe food poisoning and few ops, best thing to help me get my strength back is marmite on toast and a cup of tea, then next step a good soup.

“The businessman turns out to have a lot of zanshin. Translating this concept into English is like translating "fuckface" into Nipponese, but it might translate into "emotional intensity" in football lingo. He charges directly at Hiro, hollering at the top of his lungs...
"Emotional intensity" doesn't convey the half of it, of course. It is the kind of coarse and disappointing translation that makes the dismembered bodies of samurai warriors spin in their graves. The word "zanshin" is larded down with a lot of other folderol that you have to be Nipponese to understand. And Hiro thinks, frankly, that most of it is pseudomystical crap, on the same level as his old high school football coach exhorting his men to play at 110 percent.”

ha, no, it was more this in yiddish:
overcome with emotion : choked up Hunched over my tiny screens lately, I've found myself … verklempt over an old video I posted of my son blowing bubbles in the bathtub.
like, crying when you lay eyes on your first child, you are verklempt. there is not really a good word in english for this. you can describe it, at length, but there's no word to simply reference it.
back in, like, 2014, i used twitter more. i would just tweet nonsense phrases that popped into my hed. one day, i tweeted "bloviate verklempt" and was satisfied; moved along
usually, that would be it. i've tweeted my abstract nonsense; mission accomplished. but the phrase kept popping into my head, like a song becomes an ohrwurm. i remember thinking: alright, it was good, but it wasn't that good. what the shit is this bothering me for?
so, finally, i type my own stupid made up stoned nonsense into google. i knew bloviate was a word, but i actually couldn't recall what i meant. verklempt, well, i actually just made that up, didn't realize it was a real word.
then the google results come back and i feel like i've kinda self-pwnd with bloviate, but verklempt... wow, trippy, i really needed that word and i thought i made that up

i'm still more or less isolated on my island of english but there is this weird feel when something external is required
i've always wanted to get better at faking accents; seems proper deep. doing fake accents on prank calls many years ago, i lacked focus. i would slide between midwestern and mexican without particularly noticing
