Ive got this down to an art form, issue is having to go

it's never something i've had to practice. i actually have
to be on myself to get out of the house, stop hiding at
home. so this is both good, in the sense that i actually
rather like it, and bad, in that it's healthier for me to
get out

but, yeah, food. you can get groceries delivered with
instacart whatnot, and i'll consider that if it gets proper
bad. i glanced out the window friday, and i saw a delivery
man run up to the neighbors' doorstep, hastily toss a box
down.. then he backs a good ten feet away from the door and
snaps a pic with his cameraphone to prove delivery, doesn't
even have it in his pocket before he's running back to his
car

i think i'll just go to the store myself, today. it seems
like everyone burned themselves out on crazy toilet paper
buying sprees fri/sat and things probably won't get properly
bad again until all the people jammed together at airports
courtesy of trump's completely unplanned travel ban start
filtering back out to the rest of the country and blow "the
numbers" up again

social distancing has also been great for my budget. no
paying for the train, no paying for lunch, no going to bars.
saving $$ left and right, here

that's horrible, I hope to god you some how manage to avoid
it, luckily your relatively young, really sad news though, I
was shocked when I saw the death toll

yeah, I think the one thing im worried about is getting it
and giving it to my mum, cos I know by proxy I will likely
kill her. She needs a lot of help from a physical
perspective, this is just a nightmare scenario for me. My gf
has two grandmothers one is 98 and the other is 93, her dad
is 74 as well.

the larger grocery store was completely out of ground beef,
or anything close to it. i spotted something that looked
close, but then, no, it's "ground lamb." while that sounds
like it could be good, i have no idea what to do with it

the smaller, crappier store, amazingly, had it. now i can
make tacos tonight, and freeze 3lb or so for the upcoming
apocalypse.

got a natural aversion to large crowds (unless it's a bar or
a nightclub) and i'm always stewing on "what is the best
time to go to the store, with the least bumbling twits
clogging up the aisles?"

so far, i have been on the mark: stocked up on canned stuff,
the emergency fings i should have had but didn't, last
weekend and the friday before that. rounded things out last
thursday. hid indoors as everyone went crazy on fri+sat

now, sunday, stores are out of some crap, but everyone's
hiding at home. i figure monday, tuesday are my best bet to
run out for a few more tings, as everyone is now breathing a
sigh of relief with their wads of bumroll, but they'll be
bored in a day or three, then all the people from the
airports will infect everyone else, and, yes, probably best
to hide again next weekend

how's your local area traffic?

yes, mostly the same over here. but since all the schools
closed the other house on the property is now stuffed with
bored college kids and i could barely get out of the
driveway this afternoon. and they were drunk and loud last
night. but quiet everywhere else. an odd dichotomy

the majority wanted british independence, he ummed and arred
over it then decided to side with what people wanted. then
he surfed to power on a wave of demagoguery. no other high
up politician supported brexit as much as boris. i support
british independence but i couldnt vote for boris despite
him being the only pro-independence candidate.he left his
own wife and kids to be with a floozy. not that im very
judgemental about these things. i even support trump to an
extent for the sole reason that he's trying to attempt
calming down the major wars that the usa has been starting.
boris is out of his depth completely, we were warned.

I think it works in principle, I think in this instance its
a bad idea letting the majority of the population get
infected as it will lead to the health service getting
overwhelmed in a massive spike and lots of additional people
dying as a consequence of not having adequate health care,
if testing can be carried out and the virus delayed so the
minimum number of people are infected at one time, that
seems like the right way to go, but im only seeing this from
a laymans viewpoint

Herd immunity the way epidemiologists use the term means a
critical threshold of your population is vaccinated so a
given pathogen can't spread even if someone or other catches
it. It doesn't mean BoJo's version, let social darwinism
take its course and burn off the excess pensioners.

if labour were competent they could hammer boris on this
point and destroy him at the next election

I saw something on twitter that Boris admired the mayor in
Jaws who didn't think they should close the beaches. Surely
this is satire from an English version of The Onion? We
cannot be living in this reality.
