McDonald's recent strategy seems, oddly enough, to try to break away from their low-cost roots and imply a little class, and thus, higher prices. Last night, having not bought nearly enough at the store last weekend, I went out for a quarter pounder with cheese and bacon, and a large fries. This used to just cost a few bux, but, no, it's 11usd and change. I think: Jesus shit, for what this is... last time I go through the drviethru on a whim.
Tonight, I have ten minutes to wait for the train, and there is McDonald's at the train station, so I decide to try again, but with a more targeted attitude. I ask for a cheeseburger from the dolla menu.
"We don't have the dollar menu here," she replies. They certainly did two weeks ago.
I shouldn't be eating their crap anyways, but now I have a much crisper reason not to. I will miss their fries.
