remember the original show being painfully slow paced with blatantly dialogued jokes. there is a video describing the fall of the simpsons by turning towards the comedy show schematic of: foreseeable joke pause laughter pause repeat it was quite the archetype of that. even more, the jokes and dialogues often described what you saw. and with that made it perfectly easy for me to watch a show in english and it became the first show i watched entirely in english without wondering what the hell it was about. it could be used for schooling purposes you know like the old fashioned foreign language programmes. imagine it were such, the show wouldnt actually have to freeze to show the new vocabulary, just overlay them in a "pause laughter grimace" sequence |
