I support LGBTQ+ programming for children 100% but the white male LGBTQ+ community specifically needs to be held to account its history of institutional racism. The hypermasculinized sexual practices of the white male LGBTQ+ community directly led to the widespread global AIDS epidemic and the deaths of over 36 million African folks. To put this number it context, it is 3 times the number of black bodies abducted from Africa during the entire 400 year history of the transatlantic slave trade. The white male LGBTQ+ community is, in terms of sheer cost of human lives, possibly the most effective, most deadly white supremacist organization in the history of the world. And we wonder why people of color are reluctant to support candidates like Pete Buttigieg? |
