i really like hot sauce. years ago, i was finishing off a burger in my cube after work. i'd absolutely hosed it in tabasco, and i was pouring sweat. a cow orker walks by and says, "oh, hey, were you just at the gym?" and he was not joking; the office had a gym and it was a genuine question. "no, i just put a lot of tabasco sauce on my burger," i reply. "oh, ok" he says. but the look on his face indicates that he still doesn't really understand
a few years before that, the college friend that introduced me to psychedelics was fond of citing a study that there's a definite correlation between people that like hot sauce and people that like psychedelics.
i've been watching hot ones again. roommates just had this show on about two years ago, and then eric andre was on. i had never seen this youtubes, i had never heard of eric andre, and after this single video, i was a lifelong fan of both.
two weeks later, the aforementioned roommates had ordered a bunch of the sauces from the show online in time for a house party. that was great... but, it did not stop there. they caught me dumping some of the sauce on a slice of bread because i wanted a hit one morning
right now, as i've been watching the channel again, i am sorely tempted to just order a bunch of hot sauces. i probably will, in fact
i can tolerate the heat, but there is an aftermath. i'm not talking about pooping it out, but the stage in between -- when it's somewhere in the middle of my intestinal tract, and it doesn't feel hot, just painful. is there a way to prepare beforehand to dodge this?
thx, hotsassfan69

Apparently - according to some studies - there is also a correlation between enjoying hot sauce and having high levels of testosterone.
I started researching it because people were raising the question if there's something wrong with my taste-buds (because I consume 2-3 normal sized Tabasco bottles per month plus other hot sauces (Tabasco, after all, is pretty mild in comparison)). But that hypothesis seemed bizarre. It's not that my taste-buds are deaf and I don't taste anything. It's just that very hot and spicy food is very enjoyable.

That hot ones show on youtube inspired me to pick up my peri-peri game. Now Im really into hot chicken. Not little wings mind, instead full sized, mouth destroying pieces of chicken. I make it outside on the fire, with some mielies on the side. Best served with a cold lager.

love hot sauce. i've been going through asda's own brand jalapeno like there's no tomorrow. not got a huge kick but it actually tastes of the fresh chillies; i putl a smear between two sour cream pringles, smoosh em together and pop em in my mouth, sometimes with a quorn slice or a bite of felafel. superior snacking
