Always up for more Bond and this actually looks decent.
Finally got the blu-ray box set the other day to camp out
with over Xmas

i thought they were replacing bond with a black lady as jane
bond or some shit. i wonder if that's still the plan. the
trailer looks like a normal bond flick.

Well the black lady is a 00 agent but that whole replacing
thing was bullshit drama I think. I’m sure she’ll save
his life a few times though.

Gee, maybe the audiences locked out of Blue Story will flock
to this because it's got a sass-mouthed fat black 00 in it.

I'm a big Bind fan but I'm willing, like Star Wars, just to
let it die now. I only really enjoyed Craig's "Casino
Royale", the others have been a bit... joyless. Gone gone
gone are the days of OHMSS, Spy who loved me, Goldeneye....
Let it go now. It's just.... upsetting.

Sadly you’re never getting another movie like those unless
it’s “ironic”

What’s the best bond theme (besides living daylights of
course)?

I love, love the theme to The spy who loved me, "Nobody does
it better", I well right up with that. And the outro, ohhhh.
I'd have it a my (sparsely attended) funeral if it didn't
look like I was saying that nobody did "it" better than I
did, which wouldn't be what I meant. It'd be a nod to when I
was young and happy watching Bond on the telly and being
entranced by all the travel and the glam... and I used to
feel happy/sad when you'd get the "James Bond will
return..." at the end of the credits. Again, at my funeral,
I don't want to give the impression I have aims toward
returning. I'll probably just go with "Wrote for Luck" by
the Happy Mondays.

Other Bond themes I really rate are:

View to a Kill
On Her Majesty's Secret Service
Moonraker
Goldeneye
You know my name

And the A-ha one.

All good choices but I can't get behind You Know My Name,
it's a decent song but not a great bond theme, at least for
me.

Worst is Madge's turn on Die Another Day

Madge's "Sigmund Freud Analyze this" effort was both
lyrically and musically a nadir. Pierce deserved a better
swansong that that awful film. I wonder if there's a fan
edit that cuts out all the painful stuff?

"You know my name", I know what you mean, it isn't a classic
Bond theme, but I thought it went well with them
"re-booting" it and pulling away from the fantasy excesses
of Die Another Day. I thought it was quite a ballsy
statement. But like with Goldeneye (one of my faves), they
re-boot the thing and go back to basics, then in the next
film immediately think "Oh cool, let's just go stupid
again". I mean, less so with Craig, but his Bond's bogged
down in this whole "the world's changed, old man", which is
exactly what Bond went through in 1995's Goldeneye when Lady
M says he's a misogynistic dinosaur Cold War relic. What's
he fucking going to do in the new one, hand out fucking
repatriations for the empire by hand?

Ohhh.....

I was listening to "You know my name" on YouTube, then on
came on Limp Bizkit's Mission Impossible theme... and I'm
ashamed to say I listened to it all through.

The most annoying thing about Craig’s movies is how
breakneck quick he went from killing his first man to being
a dinosaur with emotional baggage all along the way. He
wasn’t given a single film to let loose and have some fun
with the character.

You’re right about the Cornell track being good for a
reboot, it is great in that capacity.

I always forget Tom Jones did a bond theme.

Limp bizkit mission impossible theme is the quintessential
turn-of-the-century cultural relic, it’s important to
listen to it regularly to see how far we’ve strayed from
God’s light.

Totes agree about Craig's foreshortened "arc". Has he been
allowed to shag anyone that doesn't have the air of being
doomed and shortly about to die?

i think all of us have probably released a fake aphex or
autechre leak at one point or another on the ol' p2p, right?
perhaps this is the moment for someone to make a fake james
bond movie torrent and release it in october

but, no, north korea will hack the studio sometime in
august; post the actual movie. ruin the fun

we already have the opening song, courtesy of billie eilish.
all james bond films have extended song/title sequences,
with the opening song composed bespoke for this particular
bond, and then 'stylistic' visuals on top.

so, obviously, you'd need to have visuals that, were, in
retrospect, an utter piss-take, but, first view around,
before the 'movie' drops, it's good enough that you just
feel kind of weird about it rather than immediately knowing
you've torrented a troll

You only bum twice or so it seems
One bum for yourself and one for your dreams
You drift through the years and bum seems tame
Till one bum appears and love is it's name

And love is a stranger who'll beckon you on
Don't think of the danger or the stranger is gone

This bum is for you, so pay the price
no time to die, you only bum twice

way it could go bad is corporate flipping out and telling

well, i'm stocked up, but only because i thought i was
almost out; bought a jumbo pack when i had a half-dozen

there are local news articles about people emptying the

alright, definitely felt the needle has moved when i was
out, today. i went to a different grocery store to get fings
the other one doesn't have, like the brand of hand soap i
want, and the shelf is almost devoid of hand soap.
irritatingly, i'm just out, this is not panic

but i still bought some more canned stuff and dayquil to
round out what i already had. i probably already have enough
if i have to quarantine myself.

at the checkout, however, there are people buying jugs of
tomato juice and pasta and shit. driving home, people are
fucking out of sorts. i had to scream at some guy who almost
caused an accident trying to zip out across two lanes of
50mph+ traffic from a parking lot to a turn lane he
definitely did not have enough time to make.

hopefully, it will all blow over, but i'm actually inclined
to go out to the store again, just because, if it doesn't,
going to the store for anything will be shit by the end of
the week. but perhaps that's part of the spiral

the other store, was, actually, still pretty subdued. not
even busy. out of hand-soap, too, mostly, but ironically,
they had the one i wanted for once. the CVS had nyquil. i
think it's actually because nothing's really been reported
here yet, but next town over, some dad got it and now
they're disinfecting two schools, the stop and shop is on
the other side of that. i now have too much food; thus ends
my anthropological study of the threat of panicdemic w/rt
grocery stores for the time being
