The thing that fucks me off about a lot of these channels is how often they misrepresent stuff for clicks. LMNC has a mega drive Synthesizer video in which he has really just built an oversized arduino midi controller. The actual MD Synthesizer part is a cartridge he doesn’t name drop, it also uses an MD to Midi adapter he doesn’t bother giving kudos too. I’m actually surprised he mentions the arduino code he’s using but then that’s only because he can’t get it to work properly and needs viewers help. You get this a lot in podcasts too where people don’t cite their sources and it really aggravates me there as well. I understand this is peoples living and all that but what purpose does this video have really? |

I guess what I’m saying is why not share the wealth when it comes to the information your production team has hoovered up for you from forums/Wikipedia? Actually talk about the mechanics, theory and reasoning behind shit rather than a brisk 8 minute (good length for adbucks) kooky video on how to make “sparkles” with a £50k modular rig that contains no interesting information or whatever. Unfortunately I guess that requires effort and knowledge. |
