they skipped that part, i'm afraid

basically it's samples of a very expensive sample
instruments played back slowed down

i've listened to the soundtrack quite a bit and imagined it
was some sort of complex modular stuff. but i was wrong!

this, i saw it first when i was 8 or 9 and it was properly
scary, those heartbeat-style drums and metallic grindings!
