I want to get an mp3 and keep only the vocals, not remove them. Cool Edit's vocal remover works excellent to get rid of them, but i don't know how to reverse the process to keep only the vocals. It's surely possible? Can anybody please help me?

I don't know how you'd go about it, but if you made a copy of the track w/out vocals, could you then "subtract" that from the original (with vocals) to just leave the vocals behind?
Failing that you need a equaliser with huge range and 100s of channels like on a mixing desk to eliminate all other sound...

ive got it ive got it!!!!!!!!!!
subtract the vocals. then make an invert of all the music you have left over(i forget where this is in cool edit but i remember it being there) and then "mix paste" the inverted wav ontop of the original wav(with the vocals still in it) an invert of a wav on top of an original will eliminate all sound, all accept for the things that are not the same(i.e. the vocals) so in theory the vocals should be the only thing left.
im not possitive this will work but the theory is sound.
by the way where is the vocal remover in cool edit pro? i never noticed it.

All that happened was the sound was 50% louder :(. Eqing could indeed work, unfortunatly I don't know what range the human voice comes in at. Anyone else know?
