obsolete hand-me-down computer, as “Multics without any
balls.”)


...and here i was -- thinking that this was a meme which
evolved in the early 00s.

not only do we have this "'year' problelm" problem, but unix
timestamps also have a fixed precision. clearly, we should
switch to a timestamp format that works like floating point
numbers (IEEE 754)
