i went to a local irish pub. they make really good burgers.
today, though, it was especially good. i ordered it medium.
i like the charcoal flavor very much, but it gets too try if
you order it well-done. the outside was nice and charcoal,
but when i bit into it, it was like a soup dumpling. juice
literally came pouring out into a large pool on my plate.

at first, i was nervous -- is this undercooked? but, i
neurotically checked as i ate, and it was cooked through.

i surmise the chef cooked it briefly, rapidly, at a very
high temperature, charring the outside, sealing in ALL the
juice. through timing, he managed to nail the desired inner
cook-ness perfectly.

afterwards, i asked the bartender to select a whiskey for
me, and it was superb.

i just ate a mcdonalds vegan burger. its weird. it imitates
medium cooked meat and looks reddish and bloody inside.
tasted like a failed download

mcdonalds is a different thing entirely. i had a mcChicken
last night, and it's thoroughly processed fast food, like
eating a bag of potato chips.

this is vs. a burger with beef that tasted like beef you'd
get at the market, cooked by a man with a proper grill and a
pipeline to god

i've been seeing all sorts of noise about "impossible
burger" and i honestly don't care enough to go seek it out.
i go to mcdonalds a max of like twice a month and it's
specifically for mcnuggets or a milkshake or one of their
cloned burgers. but, hey, wish 'em the best of luck

"mcdonalds" meaning mcdonalds, burger king, wendy's, all of
that. don't go much anymore things are bad enough now that
work has free snax.

usually catering for recently converted meat eaters. those
who want the texture and flavour of meat without the ethical
or health concerns

yeah, i think they might be only selling it to people who
want to try it and vegans who end up at mcdonald's and have
nothing else to choose

why not?

we've ate meat for millennia and cuisine is based on it. for
instance the hamburger

impossible burger does take it a bit far, though

meat but there are vegans that used to enjoy it though

meat's easy to cook with low prep, you don't have to worry
about balancing amino acids or getting your B vitamins, and
it tastes good. If they can make synthmeat with those
qualities why would you bother with real meat.

it's not real! it's like beer without alcohol

i don't think any alcoholic ever drank alcohol-free beer,
that'd be just sad

Even sader, is if you accidently bought it at an off licence
and then asked to see the manager as you never understood
what non meant before drinking it at the counter, then the
manager comes out and says, 'what the fuck are you doing in
my kitchen, get the fuck out of my flat, you freak' and you
get beat and have to sleep on a bench because your bitch
wife just doesn't understand.

i meant after going sober but yes it would be even sadder to
find non-alcoholic beer during a binge, your neighbor is a
pussy ass bitch if he has any of those in his fridge
