i believe the C64 has an analogue filter which would be the hardest thing to replicate, but also i'm guessing emulation is at a point where it still sounds totally solid and wicked anyway. recently(...ish) got a SID GUTS eurorack module, cos my mates old C64 is broken and i was never too sure what to do with it. not complete control over the channels compared to SIDSTATION or SAMMICH SID but still fun to play with, especially combined with whatever modulation sources you're playing with in the eurorack setting. |
