i am torrenting a movie -- just, you know, to test the speed of a new flash backup drive i've acquired. i am hitting ten megabyes a second down; not bad at all. i go to make a burrito. i stop: i've heard microwave is "the enemy of wifi" as some boffin once put it. we shall see! i program 30 seconds; press start. run over to my computer... and it's dropping... dropping... down to about 5mb/sec. the microwave switches off, twenty seconds later. it shoots back up to 10mb/s. if you ever want to torment someone playing a game over wifi, now you know how |
