Anybody used any of them? Like the Roli seaboard or
Linnstrument?

They seem like they could be a lot of fun and you could map
interesting things to the extra parameters.

You need to dumb it down... a lot. This is xltronic. Like
could I map, say, my butt to one or more of these
extra parameters, and say, increase or decrease my fart
rate?

friend of mine has a seaboard; i've tried it. interesting,
but i'm not a very serious keyboardist and I don't have much
use for it. he does like multitrack orchestral and gets a
lot of mileage out of it. As of note is that the material
you touch has a sticky feel I found rather icky... but,
functionally, I suppose that choice makes sense

playing the roli seaboard is like massaging the back of an
alien in a cronenberg film. not really my thing. not mpe but
i use the leap controller sometimes, or a wii controller and
randomly map stuff with the max4life tool i made for easy
mapping in ableton. other than that i like the classic
keyboard the most. i have a d50

i guess i find it more intuitive to work four knobs at once
than do the equivalent with a seaboard. again, though, if
you're doing orchestral instead of electronic, it makes more
sense -- tailoring the expression of strings with one hand
and flutes with another

Good impressions guys, cheers.

I have a leap, I should really set it up to use as an
expression tool.

I was playing with this wooden block thing that you stroke
and tap and bend. It was wonderful, really nice and
expressive, but it was like 350 euros which is ridiculous.

The Seabord seem like it's bound up in a traditional
paradigm with a diatonic keyboard. I'd like something more
abstract and generalizable. Like a Monome, or more likely
just keep using Lemur.

Linnstrument seems like it has more potential to not be a
boring shit. It costs several times as much as an ipad. And
used ipads suitable for Lemur use practically fall into my
lap these days.

your concerns
