you can close a sliding glass door and it will kill your 5G signal entirely. most areas don't have 5G at all, because they don't have towers up yet. i figure about the only case where 5G works is if a starbucks deliberately installs a femptocell -- then you'd get 5G inside the starbucks. how this is any better to the free wifi already in every starbucks is unclear
for all this, you have to shell out for a new 5G phone.
conspiracy, thus: cell carriers fucking hate free wifi because they don't make any money off of it. why not gin up a narrative to get everyone to switch over to something they can charge for?

yeah, i have a phone and i use it to listen to music and browse the web via wifi
the local buses and trains in my area all have wifi now i can receive calls and texts too but i cant send them out

They're social engineering a Mark Zuckerberg of the Beast internet of things social credit score where your "smart" toothbrush and can opener and doors and adult diapers won't let you use them unless you increase your social credit score by licking John Donahoe's putrid chicom nutsack. They'll censor people from all smart items, just as they censored us from youtube and all other forms of profit. Their goal is gigadeath.
