"The first autopilot kept a plane cruising at steady
speed and altitude; the cockpit of the future, it is said,
will have a pilot, a computer, and a dog, the dog there to
bite the pilot if he touches the computer. Much of medicine
is now on a similar glide path."

The heart of the laptop isn't a genuine retro 386 but an Ali
M6117 embedded processor. This is a newer chip that
integrates a 40 MHz 80386SX CPU core along with an ALi
M1217B chipset. The system also includes 8MB of RAM, one of
three different replaceable VGA adapters (either a Cirrus
Logic CL-GD542X, a TVGA9000i, or a CHIPS F655x5), a Yamaha
OPL3 sound card, an 800x480 IPS display panel, a 4,000 mAh
battery, and a CompactFlash slot for storage. There's no
built-in trackpad, though the arrow keys can be used to
simulate a mouse. The system also includes a USB port,
though as with the Book 8088, it may be usable for mass
storage but not for typical USB accessories.

As for his 15 miserable years on film sets, Penn said it
was because he felt like “an actor who is playing a
leading role and is a known actor and is being paid well
[and] has a leadership position on a film and you’ve got
to show up with energy and be a bodyguard for the director
in some way.”
Popular on Variety

“I was faking my way through that stuff and that was
exhausting,” he explained. “Mostly what I thought was
just, ‘What time is it? When are we going to get
off?’…I was sure it was done, but I didn’t know how I
was going to keep my

“For some reason I don't like processing new information
when I'm in the air. I want to stick to things that are

adderall. let's do some accounting

i was put on speed when i was on 9 then some horrible
de-speed drugs then anti-depressants and the doctors
continued that way, fucking around and padding their pockets
with bullshit references for their fucking trade nepotism
family bullshit.

i am prescribed 70mg adderall a day. this is about the upper
limit, but i am a responsible adult, a hair under six feet
tall, i work out, and... you want me to take at specific
times and... fuck off. i deploy it as needed. stop fucking
around. just deliver the month bottle of pills on time

Shifty Shellshock, the frontman of rap-rock band Crazy Town,
has died aged 49.
The musician was best known for the 2001 single Butterfly,
which was a US number one hit, and reached number three in
the UK.
Born Seth Binzer, he founded Crazy Town in 1995, and later
enjoyed success with DJ Paul Oakenfold on the club track
Starry Eyed Surprise.
However, he struggled with addiction throughout his life,
addressing his condition on reality shows such as Celebrity
Rehab and its follow-up, Sober House.
He was found dead at his home in Los Angeles on Monday 24
June. A cause of death has not yet been disclosed

tactical surgery mid-air. penetrate the abdomen of the bitch

So I am considering (and have been for some
time) of making the site subscription-only where unless you
pay for a subscription, you will only see a limited amount
of content (aka a paywall). I wish it could be free for
everyone, but costs have (and continue) to go up over the
years, now costing 100 USD per month to run this forum
(thankfully the costs of the forum software is part of
that). For a long time now (since 2013) all new members have
been required to have a subscription, but an old loophole in
the forum software allowed paying members whose
subscriptions lapsed to continue to access the site. I am
considering turning this off so if you are

I suppose its difficult to attract younger members
cause social media has superceded the forum format. The
general banter/community side of watmm is nowhere near what
it was pre-facebook, and the aphex/autechre/boc subreddits
have also stolen potential members. The reason I still watmm
after all these years is because it aggregates a few
different things together well: its got the new and upcoming
releases forum which alerts me to a lot of smaller
labels/bandcamp releases, the music production subforums,
and the artist subforums that have the often wacky and
entertaining deep dive discussions.

But everyone's leaving facebook and reddit is going down the
drain. If watmm just sticks around long enough...

I actually heard recently there is a trend towards
private communities and forums vs social media sites (Meta,
X, Reddit, etc.) as the persistent mining of data and
monetization of everything is turning people off... this is
why I really held out as long as I could before putting ads
on the site.

Yeah, I've noticed groups of people migrating from various
public places to discord servers.. But on the other hand
there's some newer forums (lines comes to mind) that seem to
have no trouble at all attracting an active membership.

"It can be a mistake to read too much into a single
data release," noted Solita Marcelli, chief investment
officer Americas at UBS Global Wealth Management, told
investors in a research note. "The number of people who
reported being unable to work [in July] due to the weather
was 436,000; this compares to an average of 33,000 for July
since 2000."

The far-right YouTube commentators on Tenet Media’s roster
include Tim Pool, Benny Johnson, Dave Rubin, Taylor Hansen,
Lauren Southern, and Matt Christiansen. The indictment does
not name names, but identifies the internet personalities
simply as “Commentator-1” and “Commentator-2”.

The Daily Beast reached out to Pool, Rubin, and Tenet for
comment but did not receive an immediate reply. Johnson,
however, said in a statement on X: “We are disturbed by
the allegations in today’s indictment, which make clear
that myself and other influencers were victims in this
alleged scheme.”

Pool, in his own statement on X, wrote, “Should these
allegations prove true, I as well as the other personalities
and commentators were deceived and are victims. I cannot
speak for anyone else at the company as to what they do or
to what they are instructed.”

He added: “Putin is a scumbag, Russia sucks donkey
balls.”
