I honestly don't like bogdan raczynski, i think he's a
pretty good producer & maybe will get better with time, but
tracks like "i cry, bye bye" are just terrible imo..How
about you guys, which artists are you not fans of/ think are
overrated?

i'm not that big of an autechre fan.
they're ok, but i don't like them as much as most people on
here.

Some of the lyrics on Samurai Math Beats are really funny
tho "you and i doing ninja moves......." but thats it.

i don't like kid606, he has to much softwareish music,
sometimes to complex or just noize and low melodies

sido, i agree about some of his lyrics, i do find some of
his stuff a little admirable in a humourous way, but not too
much..

Autechre....especially their last album, Confield. Also,
Squarepusher's last albums are not very good. (Big Loada,
Budakhan, Selc. Six., Go Plastic)

But hey, that's my opinion.

i really like both Autechre and Bogdan a lot. I don't like
Kid606, Anti pop consortium, Req and Funkstörung at all..

apart from 3 tasty tunes
"Go plastic" let me down large-stylee &
put me off shelling out on any more money on squarepusher
(though the Chaos AD track "psultan" makes me want to know
more...)

Hmm, then I recommend get the track 'tomorrow world' (is
that 2 m's?)...just don't buy the album its on (selection
16)

half of it really does sound like 'jazz club'

niiice

yeah..go plastic really isnt that much like his other
stuff...stilll give him a chance
most of his pre-go plastic stuff is great

offline smokehammer from Saigon (Vietnam) on 2002-04-22 00:41 [#00188189]

hehe....
the advice i got from here was that go plastic was his best
!!!! ah well...

I like psultan sp mix because it has that chilled lush
melody and doesnt run out of ideas or go too harsh/fucked
like most of the GP stuff...

whats the best for melodic D&B / jazzy stuff
big loada ? s16 ? feed me ..?

offline wayout from the street of crocodiles on 2002-04-22 00:44 [#00188194]

feed me weird things, hard normal daddy, burningn n tree are
the best for jazzy dnb like the psultan remix
big loada's good too...but not as jazzy

logged in just to bitch
jamie lidell and richard devine are talentless cunts: their
stuff is shit
plaid is over-rated, cos its just funky house and breaks
stuff, unusual for warp but pedestrian for most other
labels
the past few autechre releases have been cock-poo
the whole of the san francisco scene (matmos, kid 606 etc)
is a bit wanky, cripple without their NI software

i hate many more people but rage has left me blind to naming
more...

not so much electronic artists but people like linkin park
and limp biskit who say how much aphex/warp influence them
but obviously have only heard CTD and WL single and name
drop. these are also the same people that will use plug ins
for a crutch for shit music, taking a shit one and turning
it into a shit one with knobs on, like madonna or cher.
Death to the pretenders!!!! kill these fucking shitpricks by
drowning them in their own filth!!!

nah but when i go into the major newsagents i scan most
magazines but never buy them, so if i see an X or ph my eye
is drawn to it, lots of shit like that in nme magazine, plus
my little sister listens to that shit (that is why i punch
her while she sleeps) and i can tell what plugins they use
(freeze is very popular as garnish for middle class moaning
shit like that) lets kill these fuckers and braindance on
their graves

Hard as I try, I cannot get into Squarepusher, with the
exception of red hot car. Then again...I haven't heard much
beyond go plastic.

Hrvatski - I sorta liked one song but that's it.

Old Autechre - pre lp5 I am not into.

SAW vol.2 - ambience is nothing groundbreaking. I hate to
say it cause I think RDJ is so amazing.

And anything that's to much techno or straight ambient.

Question, how why do you think these artist suck if you've
bought their records? Did you poorly research the artist or
forget to in the first place. Or were you misinformed by a
friend and were disappointed?

i don't like autechre much. i think they are way too
overrated. their music is just, weird :/ And bogdan is
nothing special. I have none of their records, i've listened
to them in shops and through the internet.
