Just ordered a fucking switch lol
Base unit 150 quid, controllers 50 quid, psu 13 quid, saved
50 by buying everything separate. Zelda and yoshi games on
the way

Nice man, the Switch is fucking epic. I've already bought 3
of em. Can't wait til the smaller version comes out

I will eventually get one. Just reading indeksical going on
about set me straight. Great that it’s finally getting a
price reduction.

Honestly I’ve had it since launch, the switch tax is
getting to me. You’d be better off getting a controller
and buying the games for half the price on steam.

Those first party games though, kinda make it worth it. And
I like to play in bed with my wife while she binges crap tv.

I kind of agree, game prices are mad, especially for digital
Indies that have been out in PC for 4 or 5 years. The
portability is unmatched though, especially if you travel a
lot.

It's not that expensive, plus you can use student loans to
buy games, which often appreciate in value, especially if
you buy second and third copies to keep sealed

15 quid each
Rime, a lush looking game set on an island that you
explore.
Sine mora ex. Shoot em up.

There's a cowboy robot game that has 90s arcade gfx, costs
30 quid. Looks amazing but is supposed to be hard so I
didn't buy it.

I also kind of agree with myself there. I love the thing and
don’t regret getting it.

The only travelling I do lately is within the house but I do
prefer playing in handheld generally - if I can cuddle and
play a game at the same I feel like I’m winning.

Rime was available for free on the google play store.
Sine mora can be played for free on a hacked vita which i
also own.
Hmm, switch games seem expensive..

The switch is hackable (at least the older models). People
have successfully run HL2 and Doom 3 and other games on it.

Maybe further down the line when the new “pro” edition
comes out, I’ll use my old one for homebrew stuff.

Tetris 99 is the best switch game.

Or bayonetta 2

I am mostly interested in playing indie games on the go. Is
there maybe an alternative for this?

The switch has gotten a lot of great Indies.

I used to think a modded ds was the pinnacle of mobile
gaming but the Switch has superseded beyond anything I could
have imagined.

I’m a little miffed because our eshop used to be
reasonable, until the rest of the world started using it,
resulting in them changing the prices.

I think the price is further bumped because porting to the
switch takes extra development time. Probably why there are
many bad ports too.

Very nice machine, bit heavy though. My thumb is aching
after playing sonic mania for 45 minutes.

here, don't spoil it for me.

i've got a switch. fucking excellent console. graphics etc
ain't even close to being on a par with the likes of PS4,
but it doesn't matter. playability and fun-factor is
massive.

legend of zelda breath of the wild is also one of the best
games i've ever played.

Im at the start of zelda, been exploring for hours, found
some fire arrows and a decent bow at the temple of time.
Hardly achieved anything yet.
