LAZY_TITLE

i was having a beer at the train station, when this came on
the radio. i've heard it a few times, and it's always
grabbed my ear. i figured it was old, 70s or something...
but, no, it's portished, whom i've heard of, but never
really listened to.

the jazz lounge feeling is lovely, the vocals are lovely,
but the guitar really sets it off -- it'd be a bit underdone
without it

i'm super into massive attack; 100th window + analord was
pretty much what i was going for from 2005-6

you'd think i'd have listened to portished by now. but life
is strange

I only know of them cos brother bough their album in 1994, I
think they might have won the mercury music prise that year
for it, he went to university in Bristol from where they are
abouts

You’ve spelt it wrong more than once so I’m guessing
it’s not a typo. It’s ‘Portishead’.

ah, portishead. their second album is one of my all time
favourites of any genre, it's just fantastic but not an easy
listen. lots of strange harmonies, very dark stuff.
broadcast are also great, haha sound and the noise made by
people are brill. i like dis thredd

i went on a drive just now, (s)lightly spraying rain,
playing this song on youtube via my fone. before going out,
i smoked some vaporizer for the first time all day. in the
car, i had my first cig in a few hours. everything felt
superbly creamy. i was just hitting bumps and manholes in
time to the music without even really bothering to think
about it. mashing the accelerator in timed bursts aimed not
to actually accelerate, but more to just wiggle the car
around. singing haphazardly; my pitch is spot-on but i don't
know the lyrics yet

and by "this song" i mean the one i made "this thread"
about

(have you ever thot about how odd the word "this" "is"?)

i just had the car serviced; like three separate things
fixed. then they actually fixed some other stuff without
being asked; dears. most fun i've had with this shitbucket
in a while

oh yeah and massive attack are awesome too if you ignore the
more recent stuff. protection is my favourite, the
lyrics are lovely and can still make me boohoo if i'm
feeling a bit fragile

blue lines, never got into it. all about mezzanine and 100th
windows. later albums, yeah, severely disappointing. i
remember being super-stoked they had a new album,
heligoland... then it was just... yeah.... severely
disappointing. oh well. if i'd made mezzanine and 100th
window, i would still feel ok with myself if everything
after was rather meh

i'm just re-listening to mezzanine now and i do love
teardrop. "love is a doing word", they know the score
