we're having a blizzard here after several weeks of nice
spring weather. i had to put some boards of canada in the
ol' cd player for my drives to work. i dunno what it is
about shit cold weather that puts me in the mood for IDM.

(are we officially calling it IDM now? it's almost been 2
decades since i've been on the board and we all hated that
term back in the day)

I feel like IDM is a, "I need guidance right now." type of
music.
Come to Daddy is starting to make sense.

my feelings on the term "IDM" is i'm too old to care anymore
about what it's called, even if it's not entirely accurate,
just as long as everyone mostly knows what someone is
talking about when that term is used (even though i still
call a lot of what i listen to 'drill & bass' and make weird
noises with my mouth if i'm describing, say, autechre to
someone)

braindance? I think IDM originates from usernet groups that
go back to the early 90s, although yeah it does have that
sense of snobbishness about it in the word intelligence
which is a bit laughable

Ugh...

Does it make me a narcissist to want to be in love with
someone who I think I look like

It's not narcissistic: best predictability of a long-term
relationship is how similar your skull shapes are, how
similar your face & facial features are, and how much they
look like your parent of the opposite sex.
