pretty much....
depends on the time of day though. Sometimes if the restaurant is close and things aren't busy you can get it quite fast and hot.... but overall it can be pretty disappointing

I used it once and it was all spilled in the bag. Never again.

This type of service has been around for like 15 years in some areas and it's always sucked in its various permutations. The first one I had access to around '05 was called "Doorstop Delivery", I think, and it was exactly as you described, the one and only time I used it. Food cold, 130% price, delivered at glacial pace.

Show off!
So we’re talking Uber the “taxi” service?
Isn’t there an app dominating that market atm?

Haha, sorry! Oops, my comment wasn't specifically about Uber (yeah, the "taxi" service), but rather just this particular offshoot of Uber which is: you order food from a restaurant and then a 3rd party goes there, picks it up, and delivers it to you.
So, "Doorstop Delivery" was just the first version of that business concept I encountered, but it wasn't affiliated in any way with Uber Eats.

it can be good to find local restaurants, look at menus... then, just pick the phone and call the place, boom, it's there fast and hot. i take what uber would have charged and give it to the guy as a tip, and feel better about every aspect of the transaction, really. it was nice to dodge the awkward negotiations for food with people that don't always speak the best of the english, but it's far better than uber eats. disruptive business models aren't always what their ego tells them they are
