Government + landlords is symbiotic fascism (merger of business and government), one illegalizing homesteading, the other getting forced business cuz of the former. |

That's just a convenient soundbite/microcosm of the evil, an example of the absolute power corruption landlords have. There should be no homeless people, people would hardly have to work at all unless they want extra spending money, since it isn't all stolen as rent and they can grow their own food if they're actually allowed to have land. The drastic lowering of supply of workers, previously forced to work to pay rent, would mean drastic raising of working conditions/pay in order to attract the few left who want to work, and the whole governmentless free market would mean it'd be much easier to work for yourself than a corporation, with no license needed to cut hair or drive a taxi. No building regulations or zoning laws. This is about all of humanity greatly improving its standard of living and condition. |

This is an old anarchism vs minarchism debate reposted by someone so am half through watching again since I have no life: I think no system can work if most people are "bad", meaning predatory thieves etc who initiate force on others. Dawkins has said humans are mostly altruistic because as hunter gatherers, who we're still genetically similar to, we lived in small tribes where we had a lot of relatives (a lot of shared genes). Or in game theory predation might be a risky strategy that isn't highly rewarded. But you can look around modern society and most average people (non government people) seem to get along and mutually benefit from voluntarily trading (which is all a free market is) although the free market in our system is a sabotaged shadow of what it could be. But anyway, if most people are good, in a real free market (not corporatocracy/government fascism) the majority of wealth would flow voluntarily from people who want to buy to people that have a product/service to sell. People selling coffee/self defense/food/etc. There would probably be mafia strategies in free market niches, but their offense would have to compete with all that money the voluntaryist free market could afford in self defense. Plus a child's upbringing largely determines how violent they are as an adult, and there'd be so much freedom in a free market, such a reduction in stress, probably just an overall happier society, happier kids which don't speak/imitate the language of violence as much. You can still buy food if you don't grow it, there should be a free market in whatever type of money people want. Anything can be used as money but some things are better suited like gold due to divisibility rareness etc. If I trade a cow for eggs, the eggs sort of are money similar if i instead traded the cow for gold. its unavoidable for scarce things 2 be valued more than others with supply/demand. |

for land, say there's 5 people on an island, one spot has a valuable/scarce place to fish, the rest of the shore is steep less valued cliffs. I think the amount of land you can homestead is 'land/population but also * by inverse of demand or whatever. So you can homestead 1/5th of that cliff area. if a 6th person comes along then 1/6th, a large portion since it has low demand. The fishing area you can homestead 1/5th of that smaller area, less overall land, since it has high demand by the other 4. homesteading more than that initiates force on the freedom of the other 4 to live somewhere. Or since there's such a low number of people in this case they can voluntarily agree to whatever they want like treating the whole island like a commune/commons and just have private huts or whatever. |

it's not something i think about a great deal and i'm probably going to talk in gut feelings rather than anything backed up by academic research (damn, that'll sure be a novelty on the internet) but: the trend for violent crime is largely falling, and people are generally nice to each other as it's mutually beneficial. i think if people aren't deceived by false narratives of fear, they're smarter and nicer than those in power expect / plan for. however that excludes those in power from being human, as if they're a separate species - why is it that selfish strategies work for some, and seem to be self-perpeting? i think capitalism is a rigged system, and we largely agree the more i go back and look at your post. however i think we're looking at this from a position of ridiculous privilege and it's distorting our view. the first world runs on exploitation of the third, there are centuries-old systems of oppression in gender politics, children are conditioned simply by observing parents as you rightly point out. so what's the solution? i think i personally would die if the current system didn't exist so i have a hard time advocating violent revolution, as moral as it would be. it's going to take a huge change in human mindsets and i don't think i have a plan. i just try to be peaceful and tolerant in my actions and thoughts, and that's hard enough sometimes. also: clims |

I don't know, maybe its dark 'synergy' of selfish strategies + money, which accumulates into few hands amplified by rigged systems and can be converted to anything buyable- weapons/supercomputers/etc, or in this system's case, a bunch of apartments for slaves forced to rent to become a gravity well for even more money. All the people who stole bitcoin from exchanges etc will probably have it made and their children too, who will become dacadent/spoiled. They have all that money but they don't have all the human bodies on earth, maybe that's their disadvantage. But due to the selfish gene we don't cooperate to simply go and take back what was stolen is mass restitution of wealth (only from those who acquired it from rigging/fraud/etc, which is most in this system) and land. Bees probably would since they're genetic clones and altruism toward a different bee is genetically the same as altruism toward yourself so they can cooperate- genetic socialists. But wait they do have bodies, they just pay/bribe police/military to control the rest, and they have 100% obedient robots now or soon. I have this dystopian hypothesis that government is god. Or it becomes god with all its power and supercomputer etc omniscience in the future and is now lording over us in the present from the future or something. Maybe a human brain is the "god" of the body, but all the cells are in complicated harmony. This government brain seems sickly, not at harmony with the rest of the "body". The ultimate selfish strategy is like vlad the impaler, sticking spikes through the ass to the mouth of tons of victims to intimidate enemies, controlling people with real fear of horrible torture etc. Hopefully government won't manifest a robot army and do that. Some anarchists think assassination is a key defense since one of their main weaknesses is few people on the top in a hierarchy. but again selfish gene prevents organization or risk taking. |
