what songs give you the pleasant / odd shivers and
goosebumps (if any?) i just had a big full-body one
listening to this and this cannibal ox
does it quite reliably. man, i love that sensation

hah, you and the weasels have given this some thought i see

how about tears / lump in the throat? this and
this are oftentimes apt to get me at least
misty-eyed. god we're pavlovian

that was an email i wrote to a science dude researching
voluntary goosebumps. i would have just pasted it to xlt,
but that's what weaselpedia is for. the problem with
everyone telling me to get a blog is that a blog was never
the proper format; i need hyperlinks and articles floating
in space. linear won't do at all

in any case, the brain is a marvelous machine that allows
the playback of previous experience(s). i can get myself to
tear up, sure.

i prefer tearing up for real. i remember when i was living
in cape cod, for example, and driving extremely fast as the
sun set to "out of space" by prodigy on wooded backroads.
tears streaming down my face. that's really what i live for,
and what i'd miss most if i gave up my body to be uploaded
into the internet

nice, i've yet to watch series 2. the track is a bit more
bombastic than nirvana's original, not quite to my taste but
not quite muzak! no pavlov shudders though

just a bootnote* to explain; i woke up this morning with the
westworld season 2 cover of "heart shaped box" stuck in my
hed. i put it on, loud, it made me cry. later, i got into
reading about the song, nirvana, kurt cobain, etc. and then
wound up dredging through youtube. hey. way. this is my
favorite way to spend a day

sounds a bit like those binaural beats programs you can get,
i had one years ago that ran on ms-dos but i never got great
results. no shamen / orbison glasses tho. one cool program i
had back then was called lsd-spiral and involved staring at
the centre of a moving vortex-type pattern. 30 seconds, look
away and it made everything seem to breathe
in and out for a few seconds. fascinated me at the time

as a child, i was saying a word a million times, and i felt
my brain fart. i spoke with my father about it, because he
usually had an answer for these things. he told me that,
when he was a child, he once said the phrase "cocker
spaniel" over and over and then it was like the word lost
meaning. like it didn't make sense anymore. and that, son,
this was called verbal aphasia

years later, i'm thinking: meditation really involves
repetition. mantras. dulling the mind with the same input
until it crashes and reveals its inner workings

then there's also the rhythmic flashing i've seen when
half-asleep a handful of times... hugely dorky, lol-worthy
those strobe-goggles be, with the right chemicals, they just
might work

I sort of suspect weed is some sort of verbal aphasia attack
on the species, a brain damaging virus. or it could be the
singularity just pretending to be "a plant" instead of a
nanotechnology elon musk brain 'enhancement'.

mostly bvdub

some 'just right' bits of tracks like []<'s venus no.17 @
4:37
or 2:44 of ae's known(1). stuff like that

or if I'm in the moods for something like meshuggah

I get the throat lumps and misty eyes mostly from
soundtracks,
cuz it conjures those emotional moments. an audio/visual
overload.
depends on the scene the track played.

or the entire song 'black' by pearl jam

sometimes I get the shivers from a track that's terrible,
so I feel bad for having emotions. a guilty pleasure.
'why did that song give me goosebumps I hate it', something
like that.

i'm going to go out on a limb and say you like the part
where it's like an almond-shaped spaceship doing barrel
rolls around asteroids

but, no, you didn't specify (acid mix) and that's (acid mix)

weed is a lot of things. it's not even just "weed," full
stop. different strains, different experiences. different
preparations, different results...

...but, generally, in the context of your statement ~ weed
is sort of like steroids for meditation in an age when
people don't have the time or patience to get there
themselves.

i also like the old crusty hippie theory that we were
designed to go into space and weed triggers the circuits in
our brain lying dormant in wait for our anti-grav future,
but i don't believe it

didn't even know of the acid mix. still prefer original,
cause I've listened to it 500 times.
