by pepe deluxe. i love this album. all the songs sound like other songs in the most lovely way. i can't place most of it, but it's so much deja vu, i've heard this before, etc. but it's all so seamless and it never ever sits still. always hitting you up with more. the use of tape delay with harmonizing is impeccable, as is the production. ms. wilhelmina (which sounds like the white album with better drums) and her hat is the highlight for me. it's like kula shaker with really great synths and overdubs last of the great explorers -- some blues artist i can't place. pussy cat rock -- punk rock apple thief -- i don't even know what even but this is great lucky the blind -- i had this song stuck in my hed and i honestly really thot it was a beck song and i was googling the lyrics for beck and then i put this album on again eventually and i realized it was not actually a beck song and that's why the search engine results were shit. forgotten knights -- kula shaker goes electro |

that link seems to think it's blocked in the uk BUT all of the tracks are available on youtube music (the spotify clone)... it can't be a copyright thing, right? dunno listening to ms wilhelmina and her hat, now... i like dem drumz but it might be a little clean sounding in general. or maybe not, i should really give it a chance, especially if The Man wants to keep it from me |
