any 1 else notice googles search results even with highly
specified querys got quite poor recently? 4 example if u
search site:xltronic.com and then a artist name in quotes i
get some results, sum of wich r just topic lists. and u can
see from the cached topic list results there are actual
relevent THREADS which apparently not are indexed...?? why
isnt google even indexing all of xltronic anymore? when it
has the links 2 those threads in extant cached pages?

another sad incident happened yesterday i was searching (in
quotes) for a passage from a book. google said there was 0
results so they did the usual thing get rid of the
quoteation marks and say maybe u want these results without
the quotes. and the 1st and 2nd results for that were pages
with the actual exact quoted text i searched....??? wtf if i
searched 4 the text in quotes, and there is indexed pages
with the exact text why doesnt it just find it without
haveing 2 remove the quotes

unefortunately ive tryed other search engines like bing and
duck duck go and neither of them seem like there any better
at search results

(ppl not advanced enuf iq or high experience level searchers
to understand wut im talking about pls dont respond to this
thread)

I cant prove it, but someone in government has probably had
a word in googles ear that its not good to have a informed
population if you don't want them to start building
guillotines

i like duckduck go best for the !bang shortcuts. i have it
set as my search provider, and so i can type these sort of
things directly into the url bar:

!wiki aphex twin
...and i am sent to the wikipedia page for aphex twin

!gi aphex twin
...and i am sent to the google image search results for
aphex twin

!g aphex twin
...and i am sent to the google search results for aphex
twin

there are a lot of them. if you ph the program, !php
function_name is handy.

all of this saves me half a second here, three seconds
there. over time, this generates real time savings in my
life. duckduckgo's actual search results are meh, but having
everything else 3-5 letters away makes it a winner

mostly, duckduck go seeks to connect you to where you want
to go, not keep you on the reservation.

i never rly saw alot of use in the BANGS cuz in all the
browsers u can setup search keywords (started in chrome i
think) where u type a letter or word followd by ur search
terms and it automatic searches that site without passing
thru the 3rd party site like duck go. 4 x ample if i type "d
aphex twin" in the address bar in pale moon it searches
discogs 4 aphex twin cuz i set d as the keyword 4 discogs
search or if i type "w aphex twin" it brings up the aphex
twin wikipedia page

another case of google being totally DUMBED DOWN 2 the point
SMART PPL find it unusbale i experienced 2day.

sometimes im looking 4 info on a obscure album and just
using artist and album name doesnt work so i will type a few
track titles in2 the search also. 1 would expect the AND
operator used by default inbetween words like it always has
but i found searching "artist" "title" "track1" "track2" etc
gives n results (a big number > 10000) then adding "track3"
THE NUMBER OF RESULTS ACTUALLY GOES UP wtf. then i think
maybe googles not doing the AND inbetween words so i put
that in and there is no effect. i guess u can click tools >
all results dropdown > verbatim and i THINK that works but
who knows (i just was getting pages that looked like they
had the entire dictionary in them but when u do verbatim
google wont even tell u the number of results)

you can do that in firefox natively from the address bar,
just right click on the search box and 'add keyword for this
search'

also while im ranting ill just say years ago when google
removed the "discussions" search that wuz the biggest
travesty theyve ever perpetuated on netizens cuz real ppl
talking about stuff is were most of the real knowlege on the
internet is found. u can do some weird stuff like searching
4 specific keywords inurl to make a ok replacement but its
not that good

what I find annoying about the internet and stuff is how
stuff that's really old is still proprietary we should have
access to all books and magazines that are over 10 years
old, or something makes sense
